Well 37 and I bought my first RC car, and now I'm hooked. I bought a HPI Firestorm (Nitro). So heres my problem, I just put my 4th tank of fuel in and started to rip it up since I was out of the break in stage, I did a cookie and without hitting anything the rear suspension arm broke. I went to my local hobby store and he tells me not to replace them with alloy ones, because something else wold break instead. I got that fixed and was letting my son run it when he hit my truck wheel ( my truck was the only thing in the field) and broke the front bulkhead set. So heres my question , do you keep the plastic parts or build it with metal parts? I have found some alloy parts but where do I find a bigger selection, does ererything need to be alloy? Thanks for the help.

I wouldnt buy aluminum arms but may consider the bulk head. The arms are heavier and will affect handling. The aluminum arms do bend too. Ive seen aluninum bulk heads work well before. Im not sure if RPM products makes any parts for your truck but if they do I would definatly upgrade to them b/c they are garunteed against breakage. You should also remember that the Firestorm is an entry level truck. Good Luck ! and remember that working on them is half the fun.

If you dont mind waiting for your parts ebay has alot of stuff but get to know your prices. There are times you can shop online and find them cheaper. As far as upgrading your parts sometimes it is better for someone new to the hobby to stick with stock parts until they get to know there r/c car or r/c truck better. Some parts are more for looks.

I did hit e-Bay and they had a few parts, I pick up all kinds of spare parts just so I have them. Since my first post I picked up another car (I'm hooked) I got a HPI MT2, and there are alot of after market parts for that. Thanks for the input.
