Now i know the RTR forms of electric monster trucks are the most popular of the genre but there should be options for a performance monster kit. The clod buster and TXT-1 can be transformed into performance but it takes time for shipping and $$$$ in most cases. It would be cool if traxxas or hpi would give us a kit form of there big monsters or the smaller wheely king and stampede. Hpi took a step in the right direction with a no electronics WK but i'm talking about pure show up in plastic bags kits. Any thoughts on this will be welcomed.

I agree with you guys. I really enjoy building a kit myself. But as long as there really isn't a good kit available, I make due. I have a new 3905 E-Maxx, and can't wait to drive it. But that isn't going to happen untill all of my upgrades are on it. I have taken it almost completely apart with the exception of the diffs and center gear box. When I put it all back together, it will almost be a totally different truck. I'll have about 75% of a new truck sitting in the box when it's all said and done. To me, it's almost like having a kit, but with more pieces left over.

My Super Clod is my favorite basher and I have driven the E-maxx, 12-turn stampede, and lots of other monster trucks. Kit monster trucks are the best!:D

I used to have a Clodzilla IV years ago that I enjoyed running, but after stripping a few wheels, I kind of gave it up. Maybe one day, I will get another and upgrade the wheel adapters and see where it goes from there. I remember making that truck do back flips in the yard until the body mounts were bent all out of whack. That was without a ram. Gun it and it would flip, but the front wheels would touch the ground and pull it back around. Could do quite a few in a row if I wanted. It was cool. Got rid of it to help fund my on road racing.

I have a heavy modded Clod with a Clodzilla IV chassis and it is a great basher. My favorite truck!

Electric Monsters have one of the best kits available out now in any genre! I would love to build one of those new release Bruiser based Hi-Lift F-350 or Toyota. Those look like one of the most fun builds you could ever do!
Also, the Axial Scorpion Rock Crawler is a kit and looks like a ton of fun to build too. I recently built a PTI Goliath Monster Truck kit and really enjoyed it.
I have also built a Kyosho Giga Crusher DF. What a blast. Kyosho's Dual Force is a kit based electric MT, so there is another choice.
Those are all performance vehicles, but maybe not what you exactly meant.

I would like to get a kit, I have been leaning towards the Scorpion but I always wanted a Clod too.

"focus07" Get the Clod, you won't be dissapointed. Even in stock form, the Clodbuster is my most favorite R/C vehicle of all time.

I agree too. Clods are very fun, even in stock form. But a modded Clod will double the fun!:D
Clods are also one of the best kit Monster Trucks that have ever been made in the RC Industry as well.

anything can be a kit after you take it apart a few time and upgrade the crap out of it. Just a thought

I believe that most kit monster are made by Tamiya, like the Clod, TXT, TLT, Midnight Pumpkin, Lunch Box, Wild Willy 2, Twin Detonator, Blackfoot Extreme, Double Blaze, etc. But there is lack of kit monsters, since only Tamiya makes most of them.

I have a wild dagger which is a version of the twin detonator but it doesn't perform as well as my stampede. Even after hotter motors and a fairly expensive ESC. It would be nice to see a kit like the e-maxx or wheely king or any other brand of R/C monster that had all the components of a performance monster. All I'm saying is Traxxas and HPI should give us versions of there E-Monsters in kit form and the money saved on labor to assemble them in there factory could be passed on to consumers. A dream, I know. Basically a kit that comes with everything an RTR comes with like an ESC, radio equipment, battery and charger like the E-Savage.
