LED Light Kits on a Roll Cage(couple of pixs included,for u slow users...)

Hi,

I have a set of led lights from ebay "light kit" (http://cgi.ebay.com/6-LED-light-kit-with-5-modes-for-1-10-RC-Car-Truck-Ship_W0QQitemZ270200965413QQihZ017QQcategoryZ34063 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and need help mounting these on a roll cage "roll cage" (http://cgi.ebay.com/TRAXXAS-T-MAXX-TMAXX-ROLL-CAGE-CHROME-TU_W0QQitemZ200188741698QQihZ010QQcategoryZ44028QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosti ng) ... what mounting hardware do u think i could use and how can i use it to mount the light straight forward and backwards on the roll cage...and dont say zip ties and if there is a way to use heat shrink tell me and tell me if you can cut it down the body of the heat shrink and shrink it still...also how can i protect the wires running down the length of the roll cage(see "what im gonna do" below)

what im gonna do is run the wires down the body of the roll cage and mount the module(see light kit above) on the steering servo of a t-maxx.the lights are gonna be according

car and roll cage with mounting ideas of where lights are going........

I have'nt tried it yet but I read that you can slit heatshrink lengthwise then use super glue to stick it back together then shrink it. So far I have'nt needed to try it. This was in a magazine I read, I just can't remember which one. If you try it let me know if it works. Please post pic when your done, looks like it will be really cool!

sure ill get some pix on here when im all fnished.i just went to hardware store and picked up some materials to finish it up now.

the metal with holes i just got with a strip of sheet metal with the holes in it to mount the leds in them with and secure them with zip ties...

wait...so all you did was the 6 lights? that's a whole lot more work than you could have done with the tying everything to the rollcage like that...you could've just wound up the wires and ziptied them somewhere on the chassis...

yeah i know it was way too much work for just 6 lights but i got so impatient of waiting em to come from ebay so i just did anything i could to get em on

and i said there were a lot of pictures in the title of the thread and someone told me to take pix so i took a lot more pix than anyone can think of!!!!...lol

that's pointless. why not just bunch up all the wires and put them somewhere on the chassis?

true but wanted to protect the wires with the roll cage so i did something a little harder....

uh, if you put the wires in the reciever box that would be a lot safe than on the roll cage, plus now it looks all messy unless your body covers that up...

i would have put the wires in the reciver box but 5 things here:

1. its filled with other wires that i have in there like the speedometer i have and the fail safe.....

2. i hope ur not talking about putting all the wires in the receiver cause then i wouldnt have been able to put the leds ont the back and front of the truck...

3. i needed the fastest way to protect the wires along the roll cage so i didnt want to just do zip ties and wires along the whole thing.....

4. uummm i do agree thats it is messy but to much to do something else....

5. and my body does cover it up but i usually dont use my body but it looks cool at night when its running.....
