I just bought a stock micro-baja and while I run it, sometimes it shuts off during my run. When I flip the switch off and then on again, it starts running again. It tends to happen when I hit the barriers of my race track, which is made of soft pipe insulation. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Charlie

Not sure if this is it, but a couple of things to check..

Is your motor or ESC getting hot? Running a lipo battery? Or are you running a spektrum module in the car?

I know you said the car is stock, but sometimes people refer to vehicles as stock with a couple of upgrades! :)

No, the mini-baja is 100% stock. The motor and esc get warm, definitely not hot though. I'm pretty sure that I'm not overheating anything, because on my racetrack I barely accelerate because I'm a terrible driver. Another thing, when it shuts off, sometimes the car can still turn side to side, it just can't accelerate forward or reverse.

Thanks

I had this same problem with my Mini T. One of the motor magnets wasn't attatched properly and after an impact it wouldn't go forward or reverse but it would turn. The magnet would lock the motor. It eventually fell off perminently locking the motor. Your best bet is to talk to your retailer about it and see if they can help get a warranty replacement.

I agree - take it back where you bought it or get in touch with Losi - their CS is pretty good. Sounds like a loose wire/solder joint or something - either in the ESC or motor, and when you pick it up to flip the switch it's making contact again. Check all your exposed wiring from the ESC to the motor to see if anything is loose also. i have had a lot of glitches with my LST along those lines as well.

Be carefull. If you swithch to the Deans before Losi looks at it they may say you have voided the warrenty since you altered the original set-up. I know my LHS will not take back anything that has been altered from the way it came in the original package. I had a Novak Spy micro ESC that was bad right out the box.But since I alresdy added the Deans plugs they would not do anything for me. So I had to send it in to Novak but hey said OK.Just a tip.L8r,Wrench.

my friend had this problem with his micro-t and i fixed it by loosening the 3 screws on the diff cover. at the factory they may get over tightened and grab the spur gear. i have never had this problem though because i did this when i first got it
