Hi everyone as you may know I am looking into getting a nitro and this just recently caught my eye. So I have some questions for all you maxx owners out there. My questions are
1) How tough/durable is the S-maxx?
2) How reliable is the S-maxx's engine?
3) How avaliable are hop-ups and replacement parts?
4) How tough are the servos?
Thanks in advance to all who answer.:)

The SMAXX is the same as the TMAXX.The only real difference is the 4wheel drive and reverse. For the money difference go TMaxx I have had the Smaxx and upgraded it to a Tmaxx it cost more in the long run.

hi,
i am an owner of a very great s-maxx and just wanted to say that the s-maxx is very durable with parts as long as u dont slam into the concrete foundation of a garage.which i may have done......umm but other than that the engine is on a scale from 1(worst) and 5(best) its a 4....hop ups and replacement parts are out there and at my LHS are the opposite of very rarley being there so most likely there at urs and if not just order from ebay or buytraxxas.com.....umm servos are another idea...the throttle one is ok but the steering is not the best...they still last with me for 5 or 6 months using almoost all the time but the sterring servos screw mounts broke a couple of weeks ago.....but other than that overall performance of my and other s-maxxs are very great......
hope you get one and have fun
p.s. the s-maxx is meant for racing while the t-maxx is really meant for bashing and other things....thats why the s-maxx doesnt have reverse or 4wd....

There should be a lot of hop-ups, because pretty much all of them are transferable between the S & T Maxx. Durability should be a little better than my T Maxx because you won't have the 4wd which causes less torque on parts. Remember, it is easy to may a T maxx 2wd and back to 4wd. But is not as easy the other way around. Your steering servo probably won't last long, none of my Traxxas servos did. Engine is ok, but as far as RTR's go, it is one of the best for ease of tune and reliability.
