Here you go. These are not the most recent but I am a believer in the Savage X legacy now. No it aint perfect but Darn good is pretty good for me!!!!

That is a pretty sweet ride you got bro. I am not a fan of Integy but the truck looks awesome.

The only problem I had was starting the thing initially. The Savagecentral forum rivals any of the other manufacturers out there. Tons of help and advice from some great guys........

I bought this truck after reading the review in RCDriver. I also bought the MMGT 3.0. So I guess the more good reviews I read in RCDriver, the more my garage will be filled with nitro burners!!!

I have been a Savage fan for years and I have owned several. I recall your name from Savage central.
I have never had a real desire to mount a wing on a Savage but I am sure their is something out there that will work.

Here's my Savvy. It started life with me as a racer, but I just couldn't make it go around the track fast enough vs. other more capable track trucks. This was it. I got it down as low as I could, moved some weight around, geared for the track and put the 17mm setup on it. I picked up a Revo 3.3 to get around the track better.

http://www.intergate.com/~rpurcell/rcu/savage/savvy3.jpg

Savage then become my #1 basher. On went the Innovative-RC shock conversion, LST2 shocks, Sportwerks .26 v2, 3-speed, dual disk brakes, Robinson Racing clutchbell, Savage X components, Lunsford ti turnbuckles, X body, 23mm adapters and a few other things I forgot.

I sold the GST wheels and tires and have some 40 series beadlocks coming in this week. Savages are one of my favorite all time trucks hands down.

Whoa, that all black looks AWESOME! NICE! I thought the nubz on HPI dishes looked small on my truck, but they look good on yours.

Here are the wheels/tires I ordered for my Savvy; will be here Thursday. I think they will look and work better for my Savage then the GST setup.

I also have a set of New Era shock towers coming in... The LST shocks just put too much strain on the stock shock towers and bend them back.

I hate to say this, but you'll just end up bending them as well. The Savage just wasn't designed for one sided shocks, especialy big azz shocks like the ones from an LST, they look great, but you can't abuse the trucks like one would think even with the big shocks.....these are a couple pics, one of my Savage with all the shocks and one of some recently removed towers and as you can see, I've already bent up three sets of aluminium towers. IF you want to abuse your truck, you may want to go back to the stock shock set-up and go back to the plastic towers....

What kind of shock towers are those?

If they are Integy, I am not worried. If they are New Era I am worried.

The blue one was deffy from Integy, but the silver one was machined from a block of aircraft quality aluminium, with almost twice the weight of the blue one and probably should have lasted much longer, but as you can see from the pics, it didn't.

One thing about the stock plastic parts is they do have some give and will flex a little, most times bouncing back into shape, that and they cost much less to replace than aluminium ones.

needless to say, when I built my other two Savages, they both got stock plastic shock towers and I havn't had this problem with them.

Thanks for the update. If I have any problems, I am going to build some struts from the shock towers back to the chassis somewhere or maybe find a cage that ties the towers together to be more rigid.

I've seen something like that before, the guy used the body mount holes in the shock tower and made something that looked like a piece of scafolding.

It was two "H" posts with a couple braces between them and it fit down in were the body mount would go. I was working on making a set for one of my T-Maxx's.

I'll see if I can draw something up for ya and post it.

I have carefully been studying the pics of the bent shock tower you provided and the New Era design. It looks like on your piece they just removed too much material from the tower right above where it mounts to the bulkhead. There seems to be more material around the base of the New Era tower and less mass up top.

Here is another pic of it.

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t180/Taqrin/DSCF0004-4.jpg

Could be wishful thinking. I am an optimist.

If you look closely on these two pics, you will see some marks on the out side rails just above the mounting hole where it mounts to the bulkhead, these marks are from the bulkheads, its the part that, one could say, is suppose to help out and not let them bend. So it bends just above that point and it acts like a pivot point.

At least with the stock plastic, it has a little give to it and then flexes back again, were as the aluminium is just going to bend and stay bent.

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t180/Taqrin/DSCF0002-6.jpg

I've even tried to straighten these out, but no such luck, and after what I paid for them.....it was just money down the drain... All show and no go.

The one thats on the truck now bent within the first 5 minutes, the others may have lasted longer, but I didn't notice them right away.

Unless its going to be a show truck or a shelf queen, I wouldn't bother, at least not on a Basher Savage....

The one thats on the truck now, will stay there untill It HAS to be replaced and then it will be back to stock....

I'm saving up for a Savage X 4.6 SS. I enjoy building them, not just take it out and race it. That way if something breaks you know how to get it out quicker and fix it.

I own a Savage X with Axial .28 spec 1 and RD Logics Pipe, T-Maxx 3.3 talons wheels and tires and 1 in. axle extenders Towerpro digital steering servo and bearing steering kit. It's a beast, but the Revo w OS .18TM Max still runs circles around it! :p

I have gone through differentials and upper arms before going to aluminum diff cups and upper arms. Turnbuckles and rod ends too..... Best basher out there period.

Here's our Savages. Savage XL is mine, and the E-Savage and Savage SS is my father's.

Savage XL is modded with a Futaba 3PM 2.4GHz radio and soon will have a Pro-Line Ford F-650 body for it. The Savage SS has couple mods that I can't really remembered and the E-Savage is modded with a Novak HV-Maxx brushless system, Pro-line Razorback quad body, and HPI ATV rider.

I'm a nOOb here but I'm seriously considering the Savage XL as a starter since it is BIG and hopefully can withstand a lot of mistakes learning to drive. LOL
