Is there such thing? I have heard horror stories about monster trucks that have been destroyed from the inside out because of brushless setups. I am looking for a decent contoller and motor that has about the same speed as a E-Maxx on 14 cells. I had once heard rumors of there being a mamba monster maxx controller/motor combo but I see nothing on castle's web site. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also i'm trying to keep away from upgrading too many tranny parts ,better to buy the new E-Maxx or a tranny from ebay than invest that much in the old two speed. Before i forget it is for the old two speed E-Maxx.

I've just fitted a Novak HV Maxx 4.5 + twin Venom Racing 5Ah LiPos to my 6-year-old 2-speed E-Maxx.
It already had CVD's to the wheels, but not centre.

I wanted to 'complete the package' prior to completing the full BL installation, but couldn't remove the screws to the transmission guard.
Result ?
20 minutes of ridiculous speed and power - I have changed the gearing as they state, as the motor theoretically revs to over 80,000 at 16.8V !!

This morning I chose not to disturb the neighbours too soon with the Revo and start with the BL E-Maxx.
First acceleration run ? Despite a wheelie bar with free-spinning wheels, I flipped it on it's lid with ease !!
A couple of mild acceleration runs, then more wild, then it started going nowhere fast and spinning the fronts like crazy - 40-series Road Rage - and I discovered the inevitable - snapped centre rear driveshaft !! :(

I've ordered MIP items now and will drill out the screws, but . . . .

I suppose you stay as is, or you modify as I have, and with CVD's and get the wildest ride around - your call.
Normal NiMH 6-cell batteries with BL make it faster without the silly-fast of the LiPo set-up I have, so perhaps you can modify in stages ?

this is the latest on the MMM from Castle....

and if you are looking for specs, here ya go. The MMM should be available in March. We're waiting on the things that are out of our hands right now. Boards, cases, boxes, manuals, etc. It'll be able to handle up to 6s lipo and 200A continuous. It'll also have our Castle BEC switching regulator integrated into the controller so you'll be able to dial your output voltage to your servo(s) to anything you want between 4.8v and 9v in 0.1v increments. The motors we've licensed from Steve Neu (arguably the best motors in the world). Total cost of the combo should be around $300. If any of you want to be notified when it's released shoot me an email at support@castlecreations.com and I'll add you to the list. When it's released you'll get an email from yours truly.
