well, if ur not sure what u'd like, u could get a revo and call it a truggy or monster truck, and have it do double duty... but if ur really shooting for a true truggy, losi 8ight, jammin crt-1, and ofna muti are good truggies

Not sure what your budget is but I have the XRay XT8 and love it. The only downfall is parts. I buy backups for all likely to break parts, because they are hard to get. From what I see and race against, guys seem to be most happy with the Jammin, then the Losi. The only problem I've heard with the losi is some breakage issues.

It really depends on what your plans are. If you looking to race or bash.
I have had alot of fun with truggies but I use my current machine for racing only. A good starting point would be to consider the Hyper Hobao ST RTR. This truck is very durable and can be turned into a racer with very few mod's.

the thunder tiger st-1 rtr is listed on tower hobbies site for like 700 dollars
A main hobbies has it for 244 (the red and black one is 299) For what you get it is a great steel. If you are a good pilot and you do the steering mod for sharper cornering you'll keep up with the guys that spent hundreds more than you. Its a no brainer for me for a first truggy

+1 on the ST1 from Amain.
Drop a good servo in it, and some tires...G2G.
With the $300 you save over any other truggy, buy a VSpec for it, too.

The V-spec engine is a .21. This engine will give you good power and fuel economy. She lacks the torque of a .28 so it really depends on the type of track you are running.

Yep .21, just get the plain versions not the OS Speed version...that's big dollars.

I secong this. I got mine from Amain for $425 (i love discount codes :) ) and i have no problems running with my buddy and his losi 8T. The only problem i have had with mine is the pullstarter. Way more work than a roto start. the motor is really really strong and runs down the straights with no problem. I have bent a couple front turnbuckles but those are bending because of my driving inability haha.
I dropped an Airtronics MX3 FH-SS radio in it too. seriously if you have a local shop that supports cen youll love it.
