I have a Revo 3.3, and yes, it flies !!
I have the brakes so at mid-point - no brake, no throttle, just idle - they're just not binding, as advised by Traxxas.
The servo's the 'standard' 2018, and all's fully operational, AND I have the rear brake kit fitted, but it S L O W S rather than brakes.
I have a BL / LiPo E-Maxx which is plain wild - accelerating and braking - simply put, I DON'T brake, just ease the throttle or it somersaults !!
I have a Raminator - LST1 / Aftershock with another body and wheels (there are other differences) - but that stops fine, not far off the E-Maxx.

Is changing the weak 2018 for the twice as torquey 2055 a reasonable 'cheap' fix, before I consider anything like Hi-Tec, etc ?:(

I have used the 2055 with good success, so If you are ona budget that would be a good fix until later when you get a hitec,,,,

Say I won the lottery - fat chance !! - what would you suggest ?

Hitec or Airtronics ?
I'm confused with the connectors. Do you know which will plug straight into both the Raminator and the Revo ?
(The more I think about it - not too long - both need more powerful servos)
Looking at Tower, Hitec's around $75 and Airtronics from $80-130.

Throttle brake may be limited by the cable length. Don't want to need to lengthen and Revo needs a long cable between receiver and throttle / brake servo - seems to be longer than 7" mentioned for many servos.

Appreciate your advice.

It is easy to get an adapter to lengthen wires so you don't have to cut them if you don't want to. I have had more luck with the JR servos than Hitec.
