I currently own a jammin x1-cr RTR. It is a great buggy but I am ready for something new. I'm sure many of you will understand. I have been looking at the ofna hyper7 PBS RTR. If any one has experience with this model, good or bad, I would really appreciate the input on whether or not it is a worthwhile project.

Hyper 7's are pretty good buggy's but I would probably spend a little extra and get a kit instead of a rtr, but the rtr's are very affordable considering you get everything. I definatly know what its like to want to change just for the sake of changing but when I do make a change I try and justify it by getting something a little better each time. Going from a Jammin to a hyper 7 would not be a step forward but more like a step sideways or even backwards. If you want to stick with ofna then get the hyper 8 rtr.

this will mainly be a basher. There aren't any tracks that I know of in Alaska that are close enough to justify buying an expensive kit meant for racing. All I plan to do is beat this one black and blue while I upgrade my Jammin. As for the kit end I plan to get a hpi baja 5bss to have something to build during the long winters up here.

I dont really know what buggy is good for bashing but a I just posted this earlier. Bashing doesnt really require much. Big tires(buggys have so much power it hardly matters),hauls a$$ ( any ofna rtr with the .28 will do that) and durability( most 1/8th scale buggy's have plenty of that). If I had a buggy for bashing I wold put some truggy or monster truck tires on it. It looks weird but I bet it would be better for bashing.
Good luck.

Look at the Caster Racing buggy or truggy. I would highly recommend you get the RTR version as they are made of 6061 aluminum instead of 7075 which the team pro kit is made. 6061 is softer and more pliable so it is perfect for bashing. You can bend it back a couple of times whereas 7075 will be prone to shattering if the hit is too big.
Truggies handle better and are designed to go over bigger things like gr**** sticks, rocks, etc....just by the virtue of the larger tires. Either one will be a fun choice.
In less than a month, we will have the first electric brushless available, so if Nitro is of concern, you still get an 1/8, but with new electric technology which means ease of use, etc...

I would get the hyper 8.5 or the Hyper 9
