Many of you know some kits are based off of real life trucks. The clod symbolized the growing monster truck craze in the US. But what about the Lunch Box? Many of the older kids on this forum may remember a monster truck called Rollin' Thunder back in the early 80's. Was watching a few clips on YouTube and saw Rollin' Thunder so I googled it and found a article on the original owner of Rollin thunder. It was sold in the late 80's to a man in Japan who "wanted the original". Tamiya recently released a gold edition Lunch Box. For any of the younger generation who want to know more about Rollin' Thunder the "original lunchbox" google 'Rollin' Thunder monster truck'. A little history that ties the 1:1 scale to our hobby. I hope you enjoyed the read.

I had a little die cast toy of the rollin thunder truck back when i was but a wee lad (maybe 3-4 years old???) and loved it. thats when monster trucks were just starting to become popular. i had this little matchbox playset and probably 20 trucks.
