My steering servo keeps going bad and I'm not sure why. The first time it went out when I turned left the servo would go full left and stay there. I would shut off power and straighten the wheels manually then turn power back on and all is ok till I turn. When I turn right nothing at all happens. Then when I turn left, wheels turn full left and won't move. At first I thought bad reciever, changed it out, still same problem, traded servos and all was good and worked fine. Took it out for a run and less than 5 min of running and the exact same thing is happening again. So now I have replaced the servo again but have'nt been able to run it yet. I'm going to get a better servo but I don't want to ruin an expensive servo if something else is wrong. Keep in mind this is a new truck and is barley broken in, it has not been in water or snow and has only been ran on blacktop and just a little grass. No jumping or bashing yet. Thanks for any help guys. Mike

oi i really dont know but heres a wild guess.....maybe the steering trim is messed up or maybe ur belll cranks are getting stuck ...try taking the horn off the servo and see if it is still stuck to the left.....u may need to change ur whole system .....see if there is something getting stuck when turning to the left......but i reallly dont know just wanted to post an idea so u can try something and get back out there.....

I don't have any definate answer, but first I would make sure all steering components work freely without the servo in place (if you haven't done this already). If you have a another transmitter you could try swapping it out. That would be one more thing to eliminate since you already swapped out the receiver.
Good Luck !

Is this a traxxas truck you're having problems with?
I was just wondering because I now have replaced three TQ transmitters because they were acting all goofy, twitchy, and totally unpredictable.
One of them was doing about what you are saying, but with the throttle servo... BAAAAD FULL SPEED CRASH !
All of them seemed to have something rattling around inside(I haven't taken any of them apart yet to see what the problem might be.)

It's a recat volcano sv pro. I did check for anything binding but all is ok with that. I will try a different transmitter. Thanks for the info, and by the way I orderd a savage ss! It should be here thursday.:D :D :D Can't wait to get started putting it together!

I hope you have a blast with your new Savage SS... that's one tough truck.
Let us know what you find out with the SV Pro.

Well, I bought a higher torque servo at my LHS and so far so good. I guess the servos that come with these trucks are junk. I ran a couple tanks of fuel through it since the replacement and all is good so far. I did finish putting the savage together, I'll post pictures later. I still need to paint the body but all else is ready for bashing! :D
