Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself from way out here in the Pacific. I am located in Honolulu, Hawaii and have been into rc's for the past 10 years off and on. I am mostly interested in monster trucks and my first hobby grade rc was an original blackfoot (when I was 12). Since then I have owned a few Bruisers and Clods but now I am really a fan of building scale trucks. I have a few projects that I will be working on, they have actually been in the process for about a year or two, but I am always changing things on them (need to really stop doing that..lol). I am hoping to help out here in any way that I can and maybe learn a few tricks while I am at it. Well see ya guys around on the board:p

Yeah I was checking out your post on the races at Fleming's. I used to hang out there a long time ago, I just recently checked it out one day and was surprised what happened to the place. I know they used to have the Clod races at one time too. Good times:D

What happened to Fleming's?
I used to frequent Fleming's, a little shop in Wahiawa, and The Hobby Company in the mall.

Sandy's has become over crowded with stuff. So he's got a small table up next to the front display case and that's as far into the store as you can go. Good thing is though he's been better stocked lately now that we have a good racing series going on in the parking lot. Jason, didn't know you had lived out here...are you still in Hawaii? If you know Sandy Flemings chances are we have met...I used to work there and helped out with much of the on and off-road racing over the years.

Oh the shop in Wahiawa was N.S.T.P. or Not So Trivial Pursuits...worked at Hobby Co. for a time too.

Last time I was at Fleming's (or Hawaii for that matter) was '98. I was stationed at Helemano from '95-'98. Most of the time I was driving this thing (http://www.projecttwin.com/CJ3A.cfm) around the island. Was fairly easy to spot.
But Fleming's...the display case on the right had cars inside, but back then you could walk through the store.
I remember Alan (High School teacher) at Hobby Company. Nice dude.
NSTP Didn't have much, tiny little shop. Still cool to visit, though.

98 I think Sandy's was still in the back building. It's now in the bottom of the front building and is at least twice as big as it used to be. It's a shame you can't walk more then 4 feet into the store...but it does keep shoplifting down.
Allan is still at Hobby Co. I believe I was working there around 92...quite a bit earlier.
Guys check out the post I put up in the events section to see the race I'm currently organizing. I believe there's even a link to pics of the last race.

Jason I am also surprised that you were actually a resident here also:eek: Glad to hear that you have had a taste of island life, must have went all over the place with your 1:1. Well anyways the one thing I remeber about Fleming's was hanging out and talking story with Dave, Jimmy, and Plo (spelling??) Another thing I remeber is that one kid that always used to get it from everybody. I think his name was Mark, skinny kid with a TC3....oh I forget...lol. I may be wrong but I think Sheldon hangs out over at Aloha Hobbies....might be the wrong one???

Sheldon...I probably do know him but more by sight then by name...I was always bad with names.
