Is it possible to mount clod tires on a WD? I have never seen a set of clod tires but a wild dagger has the potential to be a serious monster if it had the clod tires. Has anyone ever done this before?

i just mounted maxx tires on my WK - integy clod 14mm wheel adapters might work, but i have not tried them on a tamiya axle. the axles are a bit smaller so they may or may not work - if i have time later, i'll try them out on my daggar and see if they fit.

Thanks Oldschool. I appreciate it. If they don't work maybe you can help me find a site that sells the adapter I'm looking for. The wild dagger is such an underrated truck. It has the potential to be one of the best bargain kit trucks that tamiya has ever put out.

you know, i totally misread your post, i was thinking maxx rims!!

in any case, since i tried this out, i may as well pass it along - integy 14mm clod adapters do work stock and you can at least mount maxx or savage size tires!! couple of tips though - the stock axles are a little shorter than WK axles, so the barrel nuts just barely screw on. But they do screw tight. I would suggest picking up a set of WK drive axles - their longer threads will hold those big meats on much more securely, and they are not too expensive. Also, i would think about upgrading the hexes to aluminum also to help handle the stress. Good insurance both ways.

One thing i did notice is you will need a set of wide-maxx wheels (RPM Stablemaxx series would work) as a standard maxx 14 mm wheels have too deep an offset and the tires rub the steering knuckles. the offset rims fit fine though.

As far as clod rims.....not sure, but the maxx rims looked sweet!! :) Sorry for the mix-up!!

i agree - Daggers are very underrated trucks!! Hope this helps and have fun!

looks like he glued the stock rims inside the clod rims....well, that's one way to do it!
