Which car should I get. The 2 Im looking at are

The two choices are night and day.

The buggy is a good choice...that or a Mugen MBX5R

For a 2wd gas truck, I would look at AE GT2, myself.

I never met anyone who regretting buying a better machine. If you can afford the better car, in the long run, you will be much happier, as it will require less "upgrading" to make it more reliable.

The AE and Mugen are race cars....nothing against HPI, but they are hobby grade RC's for less-than-hardcore racers, as they come out of the box. This is reflected in the pricing.

Again, the Firestorm being a 1/10th 2wd gas truck, it will be lighter and being 2wd a little harder to drive compared with a 4wd buggy or truggy (or monster truck for that matter). Racing 2wd gas truck takes a better control of throttle and braking. For hard bashing, gas trucks are on the lighter side compared to 1/8th scale trucks/buggys/truggys.

My choice would be the vehicle that matches your intended use and budget, and is easy to get parts for locally. If lots of local buddies have the same truck, that's a plus for advice and spare parts in a pinch.
