Will a Mach 427 from the Losi 8ight-T with the 13 tooth bell work on the X1 or will I need a different bell? Any other considerations? Looking at this motor to start practice with and learn tuning before I get a more expensive motor.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that it should just drop in. You will need to swap over the motor mount from the 8T and slap on the Jammin' motor mount.

The only consideration would be how the length of the clutch/bell on the drive shaft would square up with the spur gear. Instead of a perfect mesh, they may be off by a hair which would still work. The only downfall would be a shorten life of the clutch bell and spur gear. The only guaranteed way would be to purchase the clutch setup from Jammin' and attaching that to the motor. But again, that might not be necessary.

The 427 backplate is a little larger and may not want to sit on the engine mounts as it will contact the chassis first.

Thanks for the info. I'll watch this very closely when the motor arrives and I start mounting it.
