if you are just starting to get into drifting, go with a fair-quality electric drift-spec car. Electric is better because there is not exaust to melt or get exhaust on the body, drifting is hard on a nitro's clutch, and there are more electric drift cars out there. i would suggest the Yokomo Drift Master above all, but my second choice is a tie between modding a TC4 and getting the Losi Drift Spec R (i think that's the name) as a resort for some1 with a thinner wallet, the HPI drift cars are amazing for the price, but the pricier cars will pay off...hope that helps :D

no problem. Electric is a lot better either way, weather you're drifting or not because of the kind of power you can find in BL and LIpo power these days. If you just want the sound of nitro, get this: http://www.unbelievablerc.com/detail.php?pid=9

You do realize that the site you refered Bugz2002 to is a fake site. All of the products are gags and not real. Just making sure we are all clear on that

What are you talking about? I used the engine buff to take my .12 engine to a .18 engine! I'll show those pit techs...see if they can figure this one out. Also, when you get the can it tells you on the back to get the engine back to original size you just soak it in alcohol (in case the techs are on to you). BA-BAM!!! Back to normal. This stuff would be great grounds for a 2:00 a.m. infomercial, you know, with that shammy thing. Just remember, not for use on human body parts.

Currently for drifting I have a FT TC4, full carbon with some weights added to the rear to create a little extra swing. It works great with the radeon motor.
My second basher drifter is a TT01, started as the rally WRX...it was only 80 at my LHS, then added yokomo drift rings and rims and just used the stock 540 and ESC, works great for drifting.
For Nitro drifitng I use a nitro TC3. I trimmed out the chassis towards the front to reduce as much weight off the front as possible and then used lexan as a dirt shield. As for the motor it is a TRX .15, with a modified head to mount a cooling fan...make sure you get a graphite bodied fan if you plan to do this mod, the plastic will melt and fall off...lol...learned the hard way...graphite bodied fans are best found as replacement fans for computer graphic cards and are about 4 bucks. I use hard comppund tires on this instead of drift rings since the TRX 15 has plenty of power and the weight shaved off allows the rear to swing easily.
If you are inexperienced with drifting start with electric and a really fast steering servo or the drift unit from HPI. I recomend staying away from the dbox, so you can learn the proper feel of drifting. once you stop spinning in circles you can have some fun sliding sideways...lol....also remember to make sure you build you setup with a one way in the front, and lock the rear diff, it will give you a much faster flick and allow you to control the slide better.
