I know about nothing for onroad so I could use the help here. My friend is looking for an on road car to mess around with. He wants nitro, which I can help him with. He also wants a realistic looking car, some sort of replica. Besides HPI is there any other recommended manu's? Thanks. Trying to keep cost to a minumum.

AE TC3 or TC4 (TC3 is nitro) or yokomo cars of any sorts...yokomo is great, very realisitic, a tad pricey but well, well worth it

The AE has a 199mm width, so does that mean I need the 200mm body? I am assuming the body sizing is based upon width?

I use 200 mm on my ae-tc4. Only problem I have with it is I cannot keep tires on it. I litterally peel the tread apart it spins the tires so hard. It is stock exept I put in a 17 turn trinity motor. I run a 4200mah NiMH battery, and she is one bad car. You can set her up for drifting or roadracing/circletrack. You might look to electric power. the advances in electric are fenominal. I most likely misspelled that but who cares right.

If you look closely you can see the top of the door has my name wrote on it. I used an extra peice of the decal sheet and a bic ink pen. It looks cool in person though. Kinda true to life Nascar thing going. Like my Paint? My uncle saw me masking it off and said it will look stupid with that much red and blue. Proved him wrong when I applied the decals.

if looking for a cheap nitro, how about a used 4-tec .15 or 25 on the bay? parts are easy to find, in fact you could probably find an entire car plus a parts roller for the same price as a new HPI.

if looking to go new, can't really beat the HPI RTR's - decent price and very scale looking. Durable to boot - cannot beat the shaft drive for parking lot bashing.

used HPI's are also all over the bay on the cheap also.

I just got a nitro tc3. engine was tuned a little on the rich side (I got it used) so I leaned it out some, and it flies. Parts are easy to come by if I need them all I have to do is walk into the lhs and get them. couldn't ask for more. I've owned both electric and now nitro versions of this particular car and I can tell you the nitro is a blast to drive! pretty simple straight forward set up if you are a noob to nitros. I can't recommend it enough.
