Have you heard of these batteries made by a company called "East Power". I put a 7-cell 4200 nimh one in my "Rustler" and in 5 minutes it sounded like the 4th of July. The front of one of the cells blew off. The salesman at the hobbyshop swore by these batteries and said not to buy "Venom" batteries because the were called " firecrackers".This hobbyshop is located in Columbus,OH. ( I-70 exit 94,south of the Pilot truckstop) I didn't want to mention any names

So you had a rare problem with the EP cells???

it sounds like you boought a stick pack, and nromally those cells are the left overs that didn't make the cut for matched packs. However the EP cells are really good, and normally don't have a problem at all, and in order for them to blow you had to have over charged them (I have never seen a Ni-Mh just up and have a problem durring normal useage, although 4200's can go bad over time (that is if they have been setting for some time without being cycled (but then they just don't work))

Batteries do blow up indeed. I haven't heard of East Power but I wouldn't disgard them either. Stuff like that happens, not often but on occasion.

Check that out. A cell blew up and so did his car. And it also mentions it happened on the same day to another Yokomo driver.
