I thought i needed a special servo saver. I was looking at one of those Hitec digital servos that have something like 300 oz/in as a replacement. The stockers are getting kinda sloppy...

2 stockers may not cost as much as 1 300 oz servo, I do not know though. Besides, the way the steering is set up, 2 servos would take out more slop than just having 1 high torque servo would. Here is an idea, get 2 of the 300 oz servos, then you do not have to worry about it.

I suppose i could get two digital metal gear servos to replace the stockers, what do you think?

i used a single 220t servo - works great and was only 45ish bucks if i remember correctly. turns the wheels no problem at rest, plenty of steering and it lightened up the chassis as well as give me some more runtime off the radio batt. pack. I removed the 1 servo and ground off the second steering arm - but if i ever decide to switch back, the arm is only a couple of bucks.

If the steering is getting sloppy, check out the all the linkages for wear, and take a look at those stock servo savers also, i have had some rough luck with traxxes stock ones. i switched to a kinborough and never had a problem afterwards.

The slop seems to be at the servo output shafts, at first i thought that the screw holding the arm was loose, it wasn't. as i move the front tires back and forth i can see the output shafts wiggling back and forth and the tires will turn about 10 degrees without turning the servo shaft....
