*EDIT* or would it be easier to buy a rc car and just take it apart and rebuild it i just need some help becuase i really want to build one because reading about all the people building one sounds like a lot of fun

it would be easier to rebuild an rtr... depending on what you want, FLM (fastlane machine) is a good company, as are GPM, gorilla maxx, and kershawdesigns.com

it also depends if you have a (current) car that gonna use as a donor,
or check out onlinemetals.com for aluminum, fullforce for carbon fiber sheets

You may want to check out a kit. You could use many of the parts you needed, and hold on to the one you do not need for future projects or parts. Kits generally have better components and chassis. All your bearings and other odds and ends one may need for a project.

^^^^ there are some kits that come with factory hop-ups, like the rc18t factory team kit. you can add upgrades to that build so u end up with everything you need (including instructions-very helpful) and u dont have to tear and rtr down to upgrade it...
