I'm getting a used tmaxx 3.3 as said above, from my aunt's friend. i know i'll need fuel, glow plugs, and maybe a glow igniter, after run (or could i just use wd-40?), and air filter oil. I'm not sure what the truck has through it but the engine is pretty much new, so i'll need to break that in... it also needs a servo and radio gear (just gonna get another reciever) so any suggestions on a servo for throttle/breaks? an idea on what else i may need? thnx

are the t-maxx bulks as weak as the e-maxx bulks? if so, what bulks should i get?

Check out JR servos and go with something on the lines of an 80 oz or better if it is for the steering. As far as recievers do you need a crystal reciever or synthesized??? JR makes awesome components as does Spectrum. After run oil is a must, but if you want to save some money and get something that works just as well if not better then check out Marvel Mystery Oil. You can pick it up at Wal-mart or Advanced auto for around $3.50 a quart. I run it as ARO in my truck since I ran out of ARO and the old timers swear by it. Don't know about the bulk heads. I just picked up a used T-Maxx 2.5 for $75.00 with radio, starter etc. I am in need of a new engine but that is still a small price to pay for a truck. Now I a a big truck (LOSI LST2) and a little one (T-maxx). Hope your break in goes well! HAPPY BASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmmm, are the bluebird servos nice?? i'm probably gonna just get another reciver so that's taken care of... o BTW the servo is for the throttle/brake so im not sure what kind of specs i want for a servo like that... thanks

I have heard that bluebird servos are nice. I have seen quite a few reviewers using them in test cars in magazines recently.

The standard thought is, buy a high torque steering servo, and then use the old 'stock' high torque servo for throttle duties. That is usually what I did.

Integy makes aluminum bulk heads, very storg and durable. Just remember, somthing has to break. As far as the servo goes, just pick up either the oem traxxas servo, or one of comperable size...torque. You do not need anything special there.

well, i guess the traxxas servo would be in stock and probably the cheapest so i'm seeing a the point there... just not sure about integy cuz my stock rc18t broke their roll cage with the body still on... anyways, as long as it's the cheapest bulkhead that won't break every run i'm good... also getting low on $$ :D

... would a deisel conversion be a good idea?? how easy to find is the fuel and how much does it cost? what are the performance gains?

Lol, do you always post multiple times in your own threads?

I'd say get a revo. The t-maxx is old news:p

Go on ebay and buy ANY bulk head other than integy. they are not made of very good aluminum and it is a gamble as to how strong they are. get some http://acncm.com/ bulkheads. They are heavy but they are cheap and will not break.

lol, ya, i hate it when my thread isn't at the top of the page :P anyways, im getting the t-maxx free from a buddy otherwise i wouldn't be getting anything and this thread wouldn't exsist :D but ya, i know that integy is a very bad company, ill probably stick to the stock bulkheads untill i break then i'll get the cheapest aluminum bulkheads that aren't from integy :D

It aggravates me that all these people hate Intgey, just because someone on the web said the are a horrible company.

I would never run Intgey driveline/suspension parts in a 1/8 race.

That said, Intgey make pretty decent crawler parts. In fact, I think they have been with rock crawler since it became popular. Itegey is not all bad. Some on Integey's parts for the revo are decent, like the graphite tranny gaurd.

I thinks acncm bulkheads look very well made, probably your best bet.

Just to clarify, I did not say integy was a bad company, I have a mini-t chassis from them that has stood up to a 9200kv motor and a 3s lipo battery. also i think thier tools are really good. However I have had experieince with thier Tmaxx chassis parts and they do not hold up to the beating. I am sure there are other parts that they make that are good, I was only commenting on the Bulkheads.

Also I agree that too many people comment on items that they have no idea about.

Only Integy parts I have are front and rear shock towers for my e-maxx. As heavy as this truck is now, the only problem I have had is a bent front tower from a very hard fast crash...(top first)...on hard packed dirt and grass with no body on or body posts up front. I had a very hard time getting it as straight as it is now. Very solid aluminum. However, with what everyone has said, I may have to steer clear of their aluminum parts in the future.

^^ lol, incase u didn't know y integy parts are good crawler parts is cuz integy parts LOOK nice and crawlers go SLOW so breakage shouldn't be nearly as threatening as it is on trucks like a savvy or maxx

Have you ever driven a crawler?

What motor/esc

pedeboi364
03-20-2008, 04:36 PM
yup, driven a custom revo crawler and the AX-10, the revo had a Quark ESC (i don't remember what kind) and an 8XL motor. The AX-10 had a traxxas XL-10 and novak 55t crawler motor
