set it back to the factory needle settings and then fire it up... im really wondering why the guys at our LHS started someone with nitro.

Your engine may have gotten debiris in it causing the piston/sleeve to get a nice deep groove cut in it. Also, ya gotta shake/mix your fuel every time you use it or all the oil will collect together with just a tad of fuel causing it to stall out like that or not run at all.

yea check every bit of that engine and look for scrapes on the sleeve
