I went out, well yesterday now, and broke in the Revo 2.5 with a 3.3 engine. I have to say there are only 4 words to describe it. NEED A NEW BODY. Loads of power, and it is still getting stronger, and has not been moved from factory adjustments yet. I broke 2 shock caps, left rear if looking from the back. Broke the collar between the header/pipe. Lost my exaust tip several times. Bent my roll cage very badly. Broke my antennae off of the remote control. Uuummmm, bent the screws and stripped out one that hold on the back of the roll cage and the rear bumper. Tore up the back of my body. Uuummm, oh yeah, I also destroyed a few cow patties.
Pic 1. Before break in shot
pic 2. Over head shot with the body on.
Pic 3. Rear shot body on.
Pic 4. Over head shot body off.
Pic 5. Shot of rear shock cap knocked off
Sorry for pic 3 and 5 being so blurry.
I did many cart wheels, many indo's, and many lid landings. I had alot of fun on tank 6. On my e-maxx video, my opening run area is were I broke this in at. The larger hill closer to the camera I was clearing roughly 15 foot past the peak and 3-4 foot high. The hump I turned my E-Maxx around on in the far back is a small hump, and I got around 6-10 inches of air depending on were I hit it with the revo. The way my suspention is set up, I was able to get some preload on the larger jump wich helped my mid air height and distance, not to mention the level flight. Coming off was another story though. I hope to get a video soon. It should be a little more exiting than my other 2 videos.
Also, I ran my stock e-maxx tires so I did not use up my racing tires. You all know how good of traction these treads get, (or lack of traction IMO), I was spinning at top end. Made for a wild ride. Hard to control.

looks like that roll cage was worth it's price! sounds like the 3.3 made a noticable difference?

Noticable is an understatement. I can lean it out a bit and run very well while keeping the motor nice and lubed up. By the way, I am running OS plugz, and Traxxas top fuel 20%. It runs great. The roll cage took a crap from a moderate crash. I will run it a little while longer, but I think I would be better off with a heavy duty wing kit. Any suggestions??? I think you will like the extra power if you drop this motor in your 2.5. I am sure when I tune her up some, and do a few minor adjustments, it will be wheelie city. I am having trouble keeping the front wheels planted at 25-30 mph when hitting goffer mounds ans little bumps. And I still have factory setting on the carb.

awesome - i think the 2.5 is going to give up the ghost here soon. i started tearing it all down for a good cleaning since spring is coming and right now the entire thing is in pieces...i have a small list of replacement parts i need to get yet. hope to get it back together soon!! We'll see how much longer the 2.5 holds up - thanks for the feeback!

i have no idea about the wing, i have yet to run one but the std. traxas setup looks pretty good. i think the techno mount looks a little beefier though.

The traxxas plugs are a little better, IMO, for traxxas engines. O.S. for O.S., ect. I only am running the O.S. because I have a ton of them and do not want to use my Traxxas plugs till closer to race time.
Temp, around 170-180*F. Like I said, I need to tune her out more for optimum performance, or a little more for longevity.
Also....Who wants to come help me find my rear spring, spring keeper, and bumper pad for the right rear shock??? It is all lost out in the pasture somewhere and I hope it has not already been disked up.

I would definately get the wing kit , mine has save my cooling head from countless botched landings , and it doesnt add much weight like the roll cage does .

From what I hear the Tekno wing mount is stronger than the Traxxas mount .

yeah look into a tekno wing kit. yeah yeah yeah save those traxxas plugs for racing! good move on your part! get a 'cuda bpdy for it when you race! looks cool and has better aero dynamics! lol

I thought about a 69 dodge charger body painted like the General Lee, add a little 1/10 scale dixie horn, and a bo and luke duke action figure hanging out the windows.lol, that would be cool though for a scale project.
