ur batts. could be fried, the same thing happened to me but a tad more severely (the heat was so great it melted the shrinkwrap) also, my advice on the RX/TX would be go 2.4 (spectrum, fasst, etc.) or just get a new reciever...

My e-maxx has the antennae wire cut near the receiver. I spliced it together and it worked fine. It does however change your frequency a little. Also, a loose crystal can do the same thing. Check to be sure it is securly in place. Check the batteries in your radio, if they are low, it can cause a simalar problem. Now, if those ideas do not help, rather than go out and buy a new reciever and or radio, go to your LHS and purchase a new antennea wire. Next, open up the reciever casing. Using a soldering iron, lightly dab the iron onto the soldered joint holding on the wire to the board. Do not get it too hot or you can burn out your traces. When you get it removed, solder on the new one. Re-attach your casing, and replace in the truck. It should be fixed. If it does not work at all, you could have burned up a trace. However, if it still has the same problem, you could have a busted crystal. If you have another set of crystals for another car, try using them, see if the problem is fixed. As a matter of fact, do this before you try to replace the antennae wire. Also, you said your wires going into the reciever look loose. Check to make sure they are not shorting out or cut. If they look ok, then they probly are. As far as the batteries go, they are probly toast. However, it is always a good idea to get a battery conditioner. I need to get one my self. You can use that to restore your batteries life a little. It will not nessasarily make them new again, but it will help. I have no clue how much they cost because I have never looked into buying one. I can tell you that racers use them to make thier batteries last longer, have longer run times, and also it can give them better power. Hope this helps.

GP cells are the best... going with high-quality batts. is a must cuz if u go BL they explode, i'd know... anyways, GP cells and ENER-G cells are good, check out maxamps.com and allbattery.com a good alterantive is cheapbatterypacks.com

Yeah, I gotcha on where it is cut. It does not matter were it is cut, but how much does matter. If you loose like an inch or two, your frequency will be jack up. This could create a serious headache. You should be able to pick up a battery conditioner at your LHS, if they do not have one, I think tower hobbies has a few. Any battery is fine for stock running. You can pick up a decent pack at Radio Shack, they may have a conditioner also. I picked up some 4500 mah Ni-MH batteries @ tower for I think 50 bucks a pop. They are very good budget batteries. Team Orion is the brand. Just remember, the lower the mah, the less run time you get, and less power. For the longest time, I was unsatisfied with my e-maxx as it was nothing like in the video's @ traxxas website. I eventually got good bateries, and wow, what a differance. Wheelies galore. A 1500 pack will run it fine, just not alot of power. But they are cheap, like 15 20 bucks a peice. For more run time and satisfaction, pick up a higher mah rating. FYI, mah means Milli-amp-hour. Get Nickle Metal Hydride batteries if possible, as Nickle cadium batteries are not as strong nor provide much run time. A 1500 ni-cd should run the e-maxx an average of 5 minutes or less, were as the 1500 ni-mh will run around 6-8. My 4500 packs run around 18-20 minutes, mostly high gear wich drains them very quickly. Low gear only, I run around 30-32 minutes on these packs. also, if you do not qalready have one, pick up a peak detectiong charger. It will also improve you battery life, and performance.

Yes, if it says "PEAK", it should be a peak detecting charger. That is the same charger I have. It is a very good charger.

would these batterys work good for stock? it says that they have a stock tamiya connector thing on it...so would it fit right on the stock connector on my e-maxx? this is my first time posting a link so bare with me on this.... hope it works:cool: also are these batterys decent in quality? - aaronhttp://cgi.ebay.com/2-NiMH-8-4V-4200mAh-Battery-Pack-for-RC-Truck-E-Maxx-S_W0QQitemZ230238500431QQihZ013QQcategoryZ44028QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Yes, they will work fine. When buying a 7 cell battery for an e-maxx, be sure the 7th cell is offset to the side just like these packs. Any other 7 cell configuration will not work without modifing the battery compartment. If you get these let me know how they are.

I have not heard of them. Usually a cheap battery is just that, CHEAP. Sometimes you may find a good deal, but....
I am currently running Orion 6 cell Ni-MH 4500 mah batteries in my emaxx, and it will tear up the earth. I picked them up @ Tower Hobbies for like 55 bucks a peice or something. I love the batteries and would suggest them to anyone. My TC-4 has a SMC Intellect 4200mah Ni-MH matched cell battery that is awsome. The price was hefty @ 75 bucks, but well well well well worth it. When I get more $$$$ to throw down, I will be purchacing more of them.

ok well today i took my truck back out, and there was no problems with it responding, but i still had problems with the batterys, when i charged the batterys before i took them out, i noticed the one battery almost had a full charge, and the other one had no charhge at all, so i charged the one battery, i did the last time i took the truck out, run the batts alll the way dead. and today i went to charge the batterys again, and it showed the same thing, what could this be? so bascially what my problem is now, is that my truck is only useing the one battery, and not both

Try cycling your btteries about 5 to 10 times...: You fuuully charge it, and you run it alllll the way dead....This should work. (It did for me after my packs sat for a long time) Then again they were 80.00 packs...lol

I like to get a tail light for a boat trailer, and hook it to the battery pack to run them dead, works well to discarge them. It sounds like one of your packs, (the one that goes dead faster) has a bad cell or 2 in it. Could just need cycled some though. Try cycling it, anout 10 times or so, but only 2 times per day, 5 days in a row to equal 10 cycles. Any more than 2 charges/cycles on a pack a day is a little hard on them. If this does not clear the problem up, get new batteries.
