I have been using two "Venom 7cell 8.4v 5000 nimh" batteries in my Emaxx. They do good, usualy I get aprox 20 minutes run time before I have to let them cool down. I would like it if I could find better batteries "if there is such a thing". I would like it if I could go for an hour before I have to recharge the batteries. Are there such batteries out there ? I'm not too concerned about price.

Well if I did my math right you draw about 250 amps average.(?) You will need the equivalent of a 15,000 Mah capacity battery to get close to a one hour run time. NiMh will be too heavy and that leaves Lipo's. 2 - 4s: 10,000 Mah packs wired in parallel will get you 20,000 Mah at 14.8 volts. Going to a 5s pack will get you 18.5 volts. The down side is one 4s pack is $250!
Also if you want to run that length of time you also will need the extra capacity to run some cooling fans (ESC and Motors). |And then you may need to get a different charger, and some sort of a voltage cut off to keep from damaging the Lipo's.

from what i know, venom sucks... (sorry, that's the only way to describe it) better batteries cost a good bit of bankroll, and since venom is cheap... u get the point... anyways, i'd check out the batts. for the emaxx on maxamps.com as they are made from high quality cells (don't remember what kind tho) also, in general, IP and GP cells are good, asare Sayno and ENER-G batts. which i've heard a few good things about here and there

Ok thanks.I'll probaly upgrade to lipo's. I just hope I can still run in water. I just can't stay away from mud puddles.

no problem, there is lots of Lipo stuff (batt., chargers, balancers) out on the market and lots of info to learn. Really do your research and talk to some one that can help point you the right direction. I am just starting the learn this stuff as well so I really could not give you any advice.
Do you mind me asking what ESC and Motor/Motors you are running?
