I am hearing that HPI has lowered some prices. My local shop owner has told me that he can sell the savage truck for $50 less due to the price reduction.
This is great news. The move was probably due to Losi introducing the Aftershock at an affordable price or what I would call below average compared to most.
Savage lovers can rejoice !

Very great news there. Savages are very good to go bashing with!

I have managed to trick out several HPI Savage trucks. They are excellent bashers and can be tuned to a racer.
In the December 2007 issue of RC Driver, Greg Vogel compiled the project Air-Savage. Its a great article for those who want to bash the Savage to the extremes.
One of my all time favorites. The June 2006 issue. This copy features a Dream Truck Buildup. The chosen trucks for the build are the MGT,Losi LST and HPI Savage. Both are great articles for the Savage fan.
You can order these back issues from the RC Driver website.

I am a so called below average Losi Aftershock owner..... I have owned 2 savage 25's and now a Savage X. With just a couple of upgrades, mainly the pipe on the Aftershock, it is just as strong of a basher as the Savage with a little more power.... So, don't leave out the Aftershock when deciding on a Monster.

Greg's quite the magician to have written an article in an issue that's still about 6 months away.

I know, I know, I'm sorry I just couldn't help myself.:o

 I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. HPI LOWERED THERE PRICES  WELL, THAT'S GOOD NEWS. I THOUGHT THEIR HPI SAVAGE WAS A FAIR DEAL. BUT HEY , LOWER PRICES MEANS MORE SPENDING ON OTHER HOP UP PARTS AND ACCESORIES. - CHRIS R. :p

That's just it! There's not much to upgrade on a Savage. You can do things to personalize it but as far as beefing the truck up it doesn't require much. The only non HPI parts on my truck are the screws, Ofna throttle linkages,Radio gear, and body. So far everything else has been updated with HPI updates. My truck started as a Savage 21 now it's closer to the X ss truck.

My 4.6 RTR has been nothing but good to me. Don't hop it up. Break it, fix, then do it all again:D
