I'm another of the 'overgrown kids' and already have a 1/8 and 1/18 Raminator.
I've already got a HV Maxx EMaxx, LiPo powered, so had to try the Micro Raminator with brushless and LiPo. I'm waiting on parts for the Maxx, as I blew the rear diff apart !!
I bought and received the Xcelorin ESC and 10250 BL motor, only to find that in order to install, I need to double the purchase price again !!
I need another servo, receiver and servo saver !!
The Micro Raminator is 27MHz, but the recommended receiver is one of the 'new technology' 2.4GHz variety, a Spektrum 3500.
This is obviously incompatible with my 27MHz transmitter - I'm presuming !! - but HopMeUp helped out and also saved me a lot of (receiver) money.
Instead of the Spektrum, I simply purchase the Sportwerks SWK4001 without crystal 27MHz, and insert my existing ones - $70 saving over the Spektrum!!
I notice that Losi are announcing a 27MHz receiver to cover this . . . . a bit late !
HopMeUp also stated there's a site on the internet for the conversion.
For anyone else needing to do so and ignorant like me, simply 'Google' Losi micro brushless conversion and click on the Horizon Hobby 14-page explanation - it's VERY clear. :)
