Anyone thinking of getting the Axial Rock Racer or already has one now? It's available in some hobby shops.:)

i dont have one but iwhen i get my cr-01 (whenever that will be!! =O) i plan on making a tube chassis for it in my shop class to make it a rock racer. i think the axial rock racer would be a good purchase. especially for the rear axle! its basically a stock wheely king on steroids via chassis and suspension geometry

I think it will make a suitable basher.

well any kind of specific truck can make a good basher! haha TC5's make great bashers! lol but with joking aside, the rtr scorpion will do a fine job as a basher!

Yeah, but I would rather get the new Tamiya CR-01.

I like the Rock Racer, I was wondering if anyone had one yet, since it is out in some hobby shops. But the CR-01 has caught my eye.

I think it's a toss-up between the CR-01 and the Axial Rock Racer.
If you think you'll plan on competing the Axial will take fewer mods and be easier to set up for competitive crawling.
The CR-01 is a great box stock truck but requires you to purchase radio gear.
They both have 27 turn motors but the CR-01 has gearing that actually makes the 27 turn motor easy to manage on the rocks. The Axial Rock Racer is a quick booger. You'd have to put a 45 or 55 turn motor in it to get the speed down to be as smooth on the rocks as a CR-01.

Yeah, the CR-01 can crawl on rocks without any changes, unlike the Rock Racer, since it has that 27T motor. It would be able to crawl with that motor, but not that good, so yeah, modding it to a 45-55T motor will make it better. It has that 27T motor, since it was also made for bashing than crawling from what I heard.

that is true about what you heard. but the scorpion rtr has some more bashable materials compared to the ax-10. the cr-01 is a crawler/scaler (if im right Jason).

The AX10 itself can be a fast little buggy with a 27t in it and makes a nice basher, plus it has some nice aluminum goodies, the bodies are both fugly.
A nice video of some after Comp bashing.

I don't think it can stand a chance to the Clod. Thanks for the video.

They saw if you mess with the pinion gear on it, it should make it much better to crawl
