Well what do you plan on doing with it ?

Racing?
Bashing?

If your just bashing, theres no need to spend the money on the Hyper 9. They Hyper 7 and 8 are still VERY capable platforms.

Go with a Hyper 7 PBS or an 8 RTR or 8.5.

They will be PLENTY good for bashing and will still hold their own on the track.

If Your Going To Spend That Kind Of Money Go With The Nine Keep Up To Date With Whats Going On Just Buy Extra Tires For Doing Dounuts In The Street Like I Do With My 8ight Fun To Play With And Takes Very Little To Be Able To Race. If You Really Want To Bash Buy A Monster Truck

^^^^ true about the tamiya 1/8 buggy, i was thinking along the lines of the 1/10 dark impact (i know there are nitro versions, i just forget the names) and the other buggies in that area of tamiya....

I dont think tamiya makes an 1/8 buggy.

Not yet...keep your eye out though, where there's 1/8 truggy (2 now), there's usually 1/8 buggy.

1000 dollars? With that kinda money I would go for a Losi 8 or a Associated RC8. You can get both as a kit or RTR. Both RTR's come with everything you need except batteries and fuel. Get some extra tires for racing and keep the stock ones for bashing. Not sure which glow plugs would work best for Alaskan weather . And good luck and have fun!

The Hyper 9 would be a great choice as well but I don't think it'll fall into your 1000 dollar max. Unless you wait until the RTR comes out.

^^^ then he needs more $$$$ for gas and things... i'd say the hyper 9, losi 8ight, or AE RC8 are the best choices (jammin' X1 is my fourth idea)

Racing; Jammin x1/x1x, losi 8ight, assoc RC8. Bashing; LX1, ravenger 4.6, violater 9.5, thunder tiger EB2. This is not all of them but my favorites. Any rtr buggy should do u good. But what do i know im a truggy guy:confused::D

personally i'd go with the LX1, hyper 8, or Jammin X1X. my pick would be the hyper 8. its a great buggy for bashing and racing. any buggy from ofna would be great. but i wouldn't spend all my money on the car and not have enough for hop ups and other stuff for the track that you'll need.

If you think about it you can buy 1 gallon of nitro for 25 dollars and 6 gallons of regular gas for 25 dollars, sure the baja 5b sucks more fuel but their is now way in a month to use 6 gallons a gas unless you use all of any free time running it. if you don't really want to race go with the baja its as durable as crap and is BBIIIGGGG!!!

the exceed hyperspeed buggie is a good car. only 120 bucks for the buggie and its all put together so all you have to do is put fuel in it and break it in. when tuneing this buggy the needles are a little finicky to get it just right but a long time online you can get it figured out. and with 15 dollars you can get the nitro starter kit and it comes with fuel bottle, glow plug ignitr, wrenches, and a couple of screw drivers. hope this helps

Remember, you get what you pay for. Outside of performance, parts support should always be considered.
