New and announcements section

I seen many moderators and administrators posting threads in the News and Announcements sections, but the forum members are not posting threads there. Why is that? We are allow to post threads about a new rc product there right?

On many forums mods control that section to prevent repeat new product posts and keep some order to that subforum. Otherwise there would be just duplicate posts and it would get off topic. This way keeps it easier for us to sift through.

Yeah, but we can actually post there. It just that I don't see any forum members posting threads there thats all. In some forums, many forum members will post in the News section, just that in this news section, no one post there.

Our News section is for admins and mods only to post announcements from within the industry. Forum members can reply to threads but cannot post new threads.

I see, ok. Well I just click on New Thread and it never work, since I do not have the permission. So yeah, it doesn't work for us.
