I finally broke down and picked one up... :) got it for $214 shipped - good deal! Will start on it sometime this week. I have an X-trail chassis coming for it, but i'd like to take a run or two with it stock in the meantime and see how it does.
Have to finish my Subaru at least to make some room...and still working on bodywork for mo...
My CR01 is a bit jealous - "Hey, you didn't even finish me yet! I need a body!!" All in good time... lol.

Cool! I messed up on my Betty body, I rushed the paint job and mounting it so I took one of my unpainted Tmaxx bodies and made a really cool crawler body out of it. Too bad I dont have a digi cam I take pics if I could. But you'll enjoy it, I like mine. Soon hopefully I'll get some new tires and beadlocks, thinking of some Flatirons.......

i built most of it yesterday, i'm a sucker for a build. I am impressed, solid manual and great parts fit. Axial did a really nice job! only issue i had was the foams were about an inch wider than the tires, i narrowed them and tried a different pattern ilo the standard star cut just to experiment a bit. i cut a v groove down the center of each foam and angled the sides so the top of the foam looks like this: ^^. very soft in the centers and side walls, but still supports the tire. See how it holds up.
just going to run it in the backyard a bit before tearing it down for the x-trail chassis. Stripped all the ano off the links and polished them up - it's coming along well! I'll have to get some pics up.
i have flat irons and Eight shooters on the way, i think they look very trick! they are for a basher project though but they will see some time on rocks i am sure.

Couple of pics...i stripped off the ano off the links and polished them up. i like the green, but wanted it to look a bit different. Just assembled the chassis and added some running gear (yes, that's my trusy old ni-cad on top!) and went out for a spin...this thing is awesome! nothing stopped it in the backyard, it climbed all over the place. Got the X-trail chassis today and ready to tear it all down again.

Nice work on the linkages. I'm getting kind of tired of seeing green.

be careful with the beadlock screws...they strip easily. also, are you gunna comp this truck?

nah, no comps for me unless they come to the east coast. i already stripped it down and started putting the axles on an X-trail chassis. haven't made a lot of progress though, lots of summer stuff going on.

for sure!!! east coast has a couple of good comps... just a lil farther south than you though... ask Jason he's the whos who for where comps on the east coast are.

well, finally got a chance to sit down and build up the x-trail chassis. it's a work in progress, but it's finally a runner. Since it's a scale chassis, i wanted to do more of a scale look so i went for the lifted monster theme. i was planning to go more scale with 2.2's and a lower stance, but the axial axles are pretty wide and it didn't look good imo.
I wanted it to be mostly waterproof so i fabbed up the battery somewhat high and dry on the chassis, and used an old servo case for sealing up the electronics. I am using the same axial tires for now, but flipped the rings for a better look. I have more panting and detail to do yet (the inner rock rings are highly annoying) and a couple odds and ends to finish, but it's a cool project so far.

Nice OldSchool. It definatly took a long time for u to get a round to the x-trail. Nice I like that body. Without all that green the red looks great!

thanks, it needs a lot of work yet, and the body is way too shiny! :) to tell the truth, i didn't know what to do with it - the chassis is very scale but the axles are so wide, it throws the scale part right out the window. i had a juggy body i was going to use on it, but it didn't look right.

ha - after i bought the juggy body, i had 4 offers from others on the bay to buy it for more than i did. it's new, complete unpainted with all the decals. i really like it, i might use it for my hi-lift, not sure yet. Right now, it's sitting on a reign K23-L chassis with TLT axles. Just another project i have to get to.
this one really, really needs some inner fenders or something - it looks really goofy with all those wires hanging out.

tamiya 4" plastic shocks f/r, and it crawls decent, but has a much higher CG than the stock kit. it's defintely a play truck, not a comp truck BUT it could do pretty good in a scaler class with some set-up changes.

see the monster mo post.... i think i end up with that nicad in all my pics cause i use it for set-up. I don't care if i get a little solder on it, drop it, etc. And that's when i take most of the pics.
