I've an old 3906 E-Maxx, with MIP centre- and drive-shaft conversion, aluminium gearbox halves, titanium gears, metal-geared high torque steering servo, aluminium suspension arms, chassis, wheely bar, Robinson slipper / steel spur, hardened steel pinion, Associated shocks (hardly leaked in 5 years !!), Imex 44 wheels/tyres (165mm diameter !!), and now I've added RC Works sway bars (excellent !!) and as it's slightly 'slammed' I've fitted a HPI Gallardo 200mm body in fluorescent green - LOOKS FANTASTIC (even if I say so myself !!) :D
The problem is with the HV Maxx - run with two 5Ah Venom LiPo's.
When not engaged to the spur, it mainly turns as it should, but sometimes it 'clicks' and doesn't turn - no sound of 'straining'.
The speed controller is showing all correct colours - red 'on', and the green full power just at full, even if the motor doesn't turn after the 'click'.
When engaged to the spur, it mainly DOESN'T move, just 'clicks'.
I'm on 65t spur/13t pinion, and await another Robinson of 72t (ordered before the problem) to counter the effect of the huge Imex tyres.
The transmitter's got new batteries, all tested at over 1.615V.
The LiPo's are 8.48/8.44V fully charged.
Anyone any ideas what's happening ?
All transmitter direction switches are to the right. All 3 signals work fine.
The steering works perfectly without a problem - no 'glitches'.
Is it a problem with the motor or speed controller - or both ?
If it were a brushed motor, it's like having badly worn brushes on a dirty commutator I suppose.
