i have a savage 25 and the slipper clutch wont keep hold of the spur gear... does anyone have a suggestion for me to do to prevent this from happening

The Savage transmission shaft has a hex design so be sure all the parts are going back together the right way.
A new slipper pad may be in order. You also may need to replace the nut as they can become stripped or install 2 nuts to prevent them from backing off.
