T-Maxx forward & Reverse

Just picked up a T-Maxx for $125, it runs great, gets up and goes but sometimes when I switch it to reverse it won't switch back and I have to flip it back and forth a few times, I see the actuator moving in and out but won't engage? I new to this sport so have not worked on any. Thanks in advance for any nfo.

Most likely is it is idling a bit to high. In order for it to shift to rev. properly it must idle correctly. They can be picky with this. I mainly went to the FOC ( Forward only converted ) Trans. in most of mine.

Thanks for the info, however I turn out the screw and the idle did'nt seem to change, I was afraid the screww was going to come out. It sounds ike its idling high.

In this case richen it up a bit on the low speed needle & it should come down.

I have decided to tear it down, I have a few parts that are bad and its needs a good cleaning and upgrade a few parts I would like to start from scratch. Can anyone drop some resources for rebuilding tranny or engine ect? Thanks in advance.

I have a revo and a t-maxx and they both do the same thing that yours does so i just switched them to forward only and it works like a charm.

got mine used too and have since rebuilt everything its a wise move.1 mans junk is another mans treasure.
