Pics are really small to see the details. Or is it just me?

Very good looking. I am really looking foward to hearing about a test under racing conditions. It would be cool to be the first to have the Tamiya at the track.:D.

Reguardless of price though, I think Tamiya is going to be in the forefront of RC racing once again.

guessing there's a big possibility of seeing a 1/8 buggy too.....very cool!
There's a TRF version of the Dark Impact/Keen Hawk/Avante chassis coming as well - looks awesome!

It looks good, and Tamiya makes a good product. My only concern would be this is the first real nitro race vehicle in current history, and I am sure there will be a lot of bugs to work out.

Tamiya has started a new site for this truck - looks GREAT!! (and expensive) but much more of a racing truggy than the nitrage was.

I really like the looks of it. Though I'm a Tamiya fan, this truggy is one of the best looking I seen. How does is compare to the Nitrage?

That nitrage to me wasnt even a real truggy. More like a M/T and 1/10 gas truck. On track the nitrage isnt that good, but this new truggy should hang with the losi 8T's and the Jammin X1, X1x, and X2, and not to forget the RC8T

Yeah, it should perform better than the Nitrage at the track. Gonna pick one of those up as soon as they hit the hobby shops. :D

Yea MUCH better. I dont know why tamyia did that no front brake thing on the nitrage.

Yeah, but to me, the TRF801XT is kind of expensive, 689.99 for a truggy that requires assemble, engine, pipe, tires, rims, etc. But of course, it was design and tested in SoCal and it's ROAR legal.

Hey I got my copy of X-treme R/C today and they did a first take of it. One thing that Tamiya did was waste a little of CG to make the ceter drive shafts 100% strait.
Another hit was a single brake linkage.
1 big default I see is plastic chassis braces. I mean for racing u really need CNC braces.
Most pros/club racers use plastic braces to allow the chassis to flex, there for the truck will have better traction. I am looking forward to seeing this truck, but more so the rc8t.
689 ain't bad, plus the price will come down after its released.

i imagine that's MSRP, i imagine the list will indeed be lower. guessing in the mid to upper $400 range. nice to see tamiya getting serious about racing again.

Well wen u have a triple on the front strait, plastic braces dont cut it. A 4ft jump to the landin ramp 35ft away going 30 mph lap after lap. CNC only way to go.
No need to go all macho on me lol, I race on the same stuff. Molded plastic works for me and many other racers. Heres a little FYI, CNC dose not refer to any particular metal or material. CNC is a computerized milling posses that machines pieces out of any material, provided the proper set up and bit. So when you say "CNC" you could be referring to any material. If you are referring to CNC aluminum braces, then yes they do offer a much stiffer chassis that will brake diff cases before they snap.

Hey KID no machoing up here at all. I know what u mean by the CNC stuf I was just putting it up like that because I cant spell! O one other thing bout letting the diff case brake before the "CNC" braces. I had some molded plastic ones on my Jammin' truggy. I was taking that same jump as I subscribed trying to tune the suspension. Well I had the suspension a little too soft and landed on the face of the last jump. I bent the front and rear center dogbones and chssie braces. But the worst part was the chassie had the banna sendrom beond repair. So thats my story of why I always use ''CNC" chassie braces.
