I got tired of replacing antenna tubes on my Mini-T. They would break in half right where the antenna tube emerged from the Body hole. to remedey the problem I cut the antenne tube just below the body and add a piece of fuel tubing that is around an inch long to the top of that small piece. Then I put the longer peice of the antenna tube through the other end of the fuel tube. This creates a flexible joint right at the body hole that allows the antenna tube to just bend and then spring back in the event of a rollover.

I simply shortened the tube so it's only about 4-5 inches above the roof. The excess antenna wire is coiled and secured inside the body near the ESC. The loss of range hasn't been an issue for the size of area where I run.

It looks better not having 11 inches of tube sticking up out of a small truck, IMO.

I tried that as well, However I had a HUGE loss of range. I am using the stock radio and with the wire coiled in the bottom I got only a few feet of range. it was a bad scene!

I'm on the stock radio still, but no problems out to maybe 80-100 feet???

I'll test it for range and pace it off......ok, 33 paces, so maybe 2.5 feet per pace...roughly 82 feet. And the tube is exactly 4" outside of the body roofline.
