A boosted hyper .21 from OFNA?

A boosted hyper .21 from OFNA? I saw this on the OFNA website and was wonderin how the HECK (from the clean up ur act post) does this work? I see the tube from the back plate go to the carb but how does it work? I gusse it gives a little more boost into the carb, but I dont know.

I have no idea, i just like adding my 2 cents here and there to show you i'm not gone i will always be here until something kills me preferably old age but you might ask someone with a lot of nitro experience. (And to rag on 1 bad bug don't ask him! :eek::p:D:cool:)

The so called "boost bottles" and stuff are not worth the money. You'd be much better off getting a engine like the STS 21B, STS 21MKii, STS S21T, STS S28, Go Tech 21 race engines, Picco p7r evo 2 or 3, Mach 427, and the list can go on.

I have a Hyper 21 8-port with out the "boost" and its slow. my $120 STS 21B will smoke it.

If you really want power, then get a decent engine (like one of the ones I listed above) and send it to be modded by Adam at ABmods.com Adam is one of the best modders around.

I already know what I want. A go tech 5-port .21. I waz just askin how does the boost thing works.

Its not really. I have seen this soooooo, sooooo, sooooo, many times on RCU, and it ALWAYS ends with "It Doesn't work" these engines do not gain from super/turbo chargers, boost bottles, etc. If you really want something fast then buy a better engine, send it to AB mods and get it modded, and learn how to tune.

Run 15% or 16% nitro and shim the engine correctly, and find the right plug and you're good to go. These engines are made to run off of 16% nitro or less (why do you think they put shims in to run the 20%-30% nitro?)

Okay JB comp, I dont care bout the not working part bout nitrous, supercharges,or turbo chargers.

maybe the little fuel tuubeing on the engine on the bottom brings in more fuel or air or something?

Thats what I thought. When the crank spins its makes a vortec that goes through the tube and puts more air into the carb.

yah all we want to know is what it does and how it works im not going to spend a ton more $$ on my lx1 for a new engine that is $100+ more than a regular 1 no matter what it does

well thats nitrous oxide which burns with more fuel than oxygen.

the boost tube just adds a vaccum to the fuel system to pull more fuel and air into the combustion chamber. the vaccum is made by the piston moving the top end of the stroke.

its not ture boost like in real cars. they use the exhaust to spin a fan that is connected to the air intake. the faster the fan spins, the more air is forced in.
