ok havent really driven my e-maxx for a while, and i went to go drive it again the other day. well i turned on my controller, then i turned the truck on, and a red light on the esc turned on for a little bit, then it turned off, then there was nothing. The batteries are charged and all, so thats not a problem. The truck wont respond at all, what could this be?

those would be tamiya connectors. to reset the esc turn on your radio, then hold dont the button on the esc until it goes from green to red, then it will flash once and pull the throttle back all the way, then it will flash twice and put the throttle to full reverse and then it should go green. -Wes

Is the esc powering up, any lights come on anymore? Is there any steering? Even if the esc wasn't programmed right the steering should work.

i guess it powers up, because if i let it sit for a while, then i turn it back on, the red light will come on for a few secs, then the light will turn off, then if i turn it back koff then on again nothing will happen at all, no lights or anything

Kinda sounds like the esc is not getting the signal from the transmitter. I know this may sound insulting, and I don't mean it to be, but try checking the crystals and the connections.

ive actuall checked the crystals a couple of times, took them out put them back in, etc, as far as connections go i havent really checked them, besides whether or not the batteries are plugged in

I had this happen to me a long time ago. I more of a nitro guy, so I did the simple thing bought a new 16.8 volt water proof ESC (I had the older 3606 E-maxx with with the red 14.4 volt ESC). Thats what I would do.

Look into a bad connection in the one connector (that doesn't power up the esc/servo) It could be anywhere in the battery, connector, wire, esc.
I'd bet on a bad battery bar or connector pin.

Also the new traxxas conectors are desent. Have u made sure that one of the batts is not shorted. Another this may be stupid, are u runnin different batterie brands. I had this freak out my E-maxx once.

If you have a dvm you can check the system for continuity at every connector to verify the esc is getting power from the batts. If not then get some help from someone who has one and tell them it is one big circuit (esc and both batts)
