Heres the deal i am getting an e revo in two days cause my dad won't let me go nitro. I want to get 7 cell packs but am not sure of what brand or pack to get i haven't had an electric monster truck yet but i have heard very bad things about the trinity stick 7 cell packs as in exploding and shorting out and so on. I want to keep it in the 50 dollar or so range per pack. thanks in advance Taylor.

Try these.
http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=VEN%2D1525%2D7T

Worked great so far on my E-maxx also can get 4200 mah for like 60$ but these are great for 35$.

Taylor
08-10-2008, 10:08 PM
Thanks. i'll consider them do you know the price of those 5000 on stormerhobbies.com?

LSXEric
08-10-2008, 10:16 PM
Probaly pushing like 80$. The 5000's arnt really worth it on the e-maxx dont give it any more power mabye just a tad, and like 4-5mins more run time. So for two 5000's u can get 4 3000's.

Taylor
08-10-2008, 10:23 PM
I just looked and they are 54 dollars i couldn't find them at first but i did. you put in 7 cell in product and then put venom as manufaturer. but there on hold and im ordering my truck tuesday. What about the cheapbatterypacks its like 54 dollars for the 7 cell 5000 there if you make a custom pack. but do i need the odd double or the flatpack? here is a link: look under configuration.
http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/tstuff/v7/buildcustompack.asp?sid=1233408#

LSXEric
08-10-2008, 10:28 PM
Get the flat pack or odd duble. Ask someone which one that will fit in the E-revo. I'm not 100% sure.

Taylor
08-10-2008, 10:32 PM
I know people use the odd double and the flat pack i just didn't know which was better. i think there the same though. But do you know if cheapbatterypacks are any good???? im not necessarialy looking for the most power, i am but i would take durability over it though.

LSXEric
08-10-2008, 10:33 PM
I've never heard of them before. So I cluelees and no those two configreations have no diference in power.

Taylor
08-10-2008, 10:41 PM
Ok thanks well i think i will order the cheap batterypacks but if those venoms come in stock i will get them.

LSXEric
08-10-2008, 10:48 PM

Taylor

Hey Taylor u'll be happy with those venom 7-cell 4200's. I like my 3000's so the 4200's should be really awsome!

how much are those 7 cell 4200 venoms? and are they lipos?

Taylor
08-11-2008, 10:33 PM
at http://www.rcplanet.com their $54 and no their not lipos their nimh. the evx2 can't take lipos can it with stock motors and speed control?????

im not shure, im kinda wondering the same thing

Taylor

Taylor
08-12-2008, 11:44 AM
yeah. next year or so im getting neu brushless engine with some sort of speed control not sure yet. then some lipos!!!!!:D

Hyper Rusty
08-12-2008, 01:52 PM
most people i know that use lipos run brushless, i'm about to convert the rusty to it. but try my place where i get my stuff. its a venom 7 cell 3000mah. and it has a great price.

i know a guy on another forum he reckons he gets 4to5 days bashing from his batts they are lipo and are 8000mah . but not cheap ,i said to him no way you get that long he said its true i get sick of bashing my r/c before they are depleted .i would love batts like that :D

Hyper Rusty
08-12-2008, 04:12 PM
i don't belive it. 5400mah lipos get like 35 minutes. i have a buddy at my track that has a prototype 8000 and it won't last an hour.

LSXEric
08-12-2008, 06:41 PM
I know that my buddy gets like almost an hour of full power out of his maxamps 12000mah 7.4's in his VXL rusty. Thats right 12000 mah

08-12-2008, 07:33 PM
wow, those are some decent batterys, would i be able to put dual 12000 mah batterys in my e-maxx?? it has the stock evx2

Duno? Well heres a kit for the E-revo probaly. Just keep the volts at 7.4 not 11.1. Al the EVX2 doesn't have Lipo cut off so u'll have to keep time onn he packs. So like the first time take them out and see how long it takes for them to slow down at all. See the time and always give like a minute cation. Dont want to over discharge.

Hyper Rusty
08-12-2008, 08:33 PM
personally i wouldn't use the lipos if the EVX2 doesn't have the shut-off. there has been multiple cases at my track where they go up in smoke becuase of that.

notatoy
08-12-2008, 08:38 PM
if you do intend to use lipos you may be better of fitting one of these it will save your batt ,,..http://www.teamnovak.com/products/lipo_cutoff_module/index.html

Hyper Rusty
08-12-2008, 08:44 PM
yeah it would be a very wise investment

Taylor
08-12-2008, 10:46 PM
Just a question, how fast will the erevo go with 7 cells? stock motors, esc, and gears. they usually put an estimate but haven't seen one.

LSXEric
08-12-2008, 11:23 PM
I'm thinking in the range from 30-35. I saw a review in Xtreme RC and the E-revo did like 29.98 or something close to 30, but said 7.4 Lipos and a gear change can put u right at 40.

Hyper Rusty
08-13-2008, 10:01 AM
well it would depend on the pack. like a 2000mah 7 cell won't put out as much as a 4200mah for a given amount of time

LSXEric
08-13-2008, 01:04 PM
Well also on Nmih mah doesn't effect the speed as much as on Lipos. Yea the 2000mah to 4200mah would take like 3-5 mph off the top speed. So with the 7 cell 4200's it should be at 30mph.

Taylor
08-13-2008, 01:04 PM
Right and i have the 4200 packs. so what would i need to change in the rear LSXEric???

Taylor
08-13-2008, 01:05 PM
Right and i have the 4200 packs. so what would i need to change in the rear LSXEric??? im not exactly looking for highest speeds mainly long runtimes but speed is always nice. ;)

LSXEric
08-13-2008, 01:10 PM
For top speed drop spur teeth and add a couple of pinion teeth. I would propaly drop 4 spur theeth and add 2 pinion theeth. Give like a 35 mph top speed keep acleration farley well and keep temps cool. Just make sure to not go toolow on gear ratio. Causes acclerated damege.

Taylor
08-13-2008, 01:12 PM
right, how would i get long run times? I want like 20min runtimes if thats possible im a basher so good speed lots of torque and runtime are all i'm looking for.

Hyper Rusty
08-13-2008, 01:12 PM
quick question. what kinda of tires are you using on it?

Taylor
08-13-2008, 01:14 PM
Im gonna keep the talons on it for a while but then i might get i think its like 17mm hexes or something like that and get either badlands or crimefighters.

Hyper Rusty
08-13-2008, 01:17 PM
the crimefighter is a great tire. i use the XTR on my hyper 7B

Hyper Rusty
08-13-2008, 01:35 PM
right, how would i get long run times? I want like 20min runtimes if thats possible im a basher so good speed lots of torque and runtime are all i'm looking for.

the only real way to to that is using lipos

Taylor
08-13-2008, 01:58 PM
Wouldn't i have to get a BL system and esc? i don't exactly have the money to get that yet but in about six months im getting a bl system and esc.

Hyper Rusty
08-13-2008, 02:41 PM
probably. the dual motors make things alittle more difficult for me, since i only use one electric motor

LSXEric
08-13-2008, 04:00 PM
Hey Taylor bashing around not at fullthrle ould give you near 15 minutes of good runtime. My 3000's give around 12minutes of good run time in my E-maxx so yes 20minutes is possible, but the last 5 minutes wont be with full power. Also looking at the crime fighters, dont get 40 series, add too much weight, look out of place, and dont steer that well. I would save and get some LPR's. U'll reap the rewards, lighter, look awsome and give u more run time what ur looking for.

Taylor
08-13-2008, 06:02 PM
Can i get the badlands in lpr? and those are the crimefighters i was talking about the LPRs.

Hyper Rusty
08-13-2008, 06:52 PM
no, the badlands are good bashing tires, but they really aren't racing tires. LPR (low profile racing) tires only the holeshot, bow tie, or crimefighter.

LSXEric
08-13-2008, 07:52 PM
Yes badlands dont cme in LPR fourm. Also look at LRP bow-ties. They are just as good as crimefighters, and I've noticed that they seem to last longer, less lug wear. Thats just what I've noticed.

Taylor
08-13-2008, 09:31 PM
well i don't race the nearest track is 80 so miles away so i have to depend on parents and they never seem to get me there.... :( So one day i might make a track but thats a lot of work. but there might be a bmx track coming so i might end up there every weekend...:D but yeah now im a basher i'm pushing towards the badlands though. any good, hopefully cheap rims to choose from for those tires?? and if i need to get different hub hexes what kind?? thanks taylor. :D

LSXEric
08-13-2008, 09:40 PM
Taylor the splined ones from the new revo will work. There are some 17mm normal hubs for the E-maxx but I'm not sure if they'll work. Heres a link for the splined ones.
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=TRA5353X

LSXEric
08-13-2008, 09:46 PM
Heres the blue groove ones I was talking about. They should work. Also I would really go LPR's bow-ties or rime fighters. I know u like the badlands, but those LPR's are sooo much better. Heres the link.
http://www.bluegrooveconcepts.com/cart/index.php?target=products&product_id=29791

Taylor
08-13-2008, 10:56 PM
so i need to get the splined ones and bow ties?

LSXEric
08-14-2008, 12:09 AM
Well yes splined or the blue groove hubs both will work. On the tires I still would recomend the LPR bow-ties, but its ur truck not mine.

Taylor
08-14-2008, 12:22 AM
they are very nice tires but it'll be a month or two before i get them.

i would but our dang cameras crap.

Taylor
08-14-2008, 09:21 PM
Well if i were to get the bad lands what rims would i need and what wheel hexes? im just trying to keep my options open.

LSXEric
08-14-2008, 09:27 PM
Well the same 17mm hubs will work, but on the badlands u'll have to us normal 3.2 half offset rims.

Taylor
08-14-2008, 09:52 PM
okay the reason im kinda pushing for the badlands is the area i run on. mostly our driveway gravel and thick sometimes high grass. so it'll make it hard to run on with those bow ties i thought. and in ditches and the road.

Hyper Rusty
08-14-2008, 09:56 PM
yeah the badlands sound like what you'll need.

Taylor
08-14-2008, 10:01 PM
:Dplus their cheaper! :D

Hyper Rusty
08-14-2008, 10:04 PM
lol. did you get the revo yet? i wanna see some pics even though its stock.

LSXEric
08-14-2008, 10:09 PM
Well Taylor that info would have helped awhile back! Yes badlands are better on high grass and rocks, the LPR's are better on road, gravvel, and as before more run time look cooler and lighter.

Hyper Rusty
08-14-2008, 10:12 PM
yeah he's right... now my 9th gradde physics are kicking in. the reason you get better times with LPRs is becuase there iss less rotaional mass than with regular treads, which in turn means less work on the motors... my head hurts now. uhhh

Taylor
08-14-2008, 10:15 PM
no it'll be here tomorrow but to give you a taste their not my pics but i'll post them.http://s510.photobucket.com/albums/s348/taylorwise_erevo/?action=view&current=erevo1.jpg thats without body. http://s510.photobucket.com/albums/s348/taylorwise_erevo/?action=view&current=erevo2.jpg this is the color of body.

oh and thanks thats me in the pics. mom and dad just left on vacation no camera but i will when they get back. this thing gos over and up stuff so easily. its amazing. drove it full speed into a ditch. rustler wouldv'e crashed right into the other side... but this weighs enough and the shocks just kept the tires on the ground and it was like a roller coaster down and up it was so smooth. and it doesn't roll at all it just turned. and with 6cells it shoots up roosts!!! awesome truck and i recommend it to everyone. :D:D:D:D

Hyper Rusty
08-15-2008, 05:51 PM
yeah its normal to get 6 minutes on a 3300. i get 5 with 3000's so your good. the thing is built kinda like a truggy so its always fun. i wish i could find a truggy conversion kit for my hyper 7

Taylor
08-15-2008, 05:56 PM
really? oh. yeah its great. couldn't you try the hyper st body posts or somethin and then put truggy tires.

Hyper Rusty
08-15-2008, 06:43 PM
unfortunately no. the hyper st is base off of the hyper 8. it may have one or two part from the 7, but they aren't significant. i'm eventually gonna get the hyper st anyways. after i get a job. stupid economy...

Taylor
08-15-2008, 08:20 PM
yeah. but in the rules can't talk about that stuff. man 5000 7cells take a long time to charge. but my dad really likes it he might buy him one.:D

Traxxas says 30+ way more than that like 35-40. pops wheelies out of my small ditch with no run up. its amazing. lots or body roll if you turn too much. flipped like 5 times in the 20mins they lasted that and a lot of kartwheels. didn't break a thing. just scratched up the body some. i think sways would help a lot. this truck is hit out of the ball park its the best truck i have ever driven. and ive driven quite a few different trucks. all electric guys forget the slash get this it is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::D:D:D everyone liked it where i was driving. i need my friends dad to make me a wheely bar though to many scratches on the wing.

The only prob ive had is the boots on the axle don't last anytime cause my gravel in my driveway just ripped them up. if they get ripped you don't really need them just blow out the truck with an aircompressor. and sometimes when it flips hard the body will rub on that high engine other wise tough as nails.:D
