Just like "crazydave" I have found a score but not from the scrapyard. I got my rustler under a pile of trash in the neighborhood. My dad and I were just driving home one eveing, and I spoted a TQ radio under a matrees. So I ride my bike back up to see it closer and discover a XL-5 rustler! To do the right thing I go ask the home owner and she said it was in the garage and they just threw it out. After chit chating for a while she said If u can fix it u can have it.:D So what ats the bottom is what I've found in there.

Well thats all I covered. Tranny is trash, titan is bad and the XL-5 dont cut it. My new combo will include XL-10 and venom fireball 15t or 19t. Im not going brussless because I'm tight on cash. 150$ is the limit and the ESC and motor and tranng will take about 100$. Not the best find but its pretty cool.

Okay I got a qestion. Does anyone know of some dish wheels that fit the hubs. 12mm I belive. I'm looking at some 2.2 rear bow-ties.

I got the tranny replacements at tthe hobby shop and the antenna. Bout to slap it together. I still holding on te ESC motor combo. Need to get fornt hub and pin and axle to get a roller. New bearings and a rear wheel and tire combo. Remeber on a budget. Now about 125$ is all got. Work in progress.

Just ordered XL-10, Venom 15t motor, front axle and hubs, Rear 2.2 nylon wheels, 2.2 bow-tie rubber,and trinty motor heat sink and fan. That eats my budget right now, but future mods will come. They include a new body, RPM A arms, traxxas turn bukels, big bores, and aluuminum caster blocks. Thats it for now will keep ya'll posted.

well it depends on when you odered them. if on friday they wont ship out stuff untill monday and sence monday is a holiday they wont ship stuff out untill tuseday and then they are back up from the weekend and holiday so you need to give it time they may not ship out untill like wendseday or so. but yeah waiting on parts suck. i have links coming for my wheely king and i am still waiting on them.

I ran into something just a minute ago. The body is a nitro rustler body. Also I dont know who painted it but man it looks like a two year old painted it!:eek: I've only done one body before (hooters body). But I know I did not do that bad of a job! It also looks like a dog got of hold of it. Back to the body, its a nitro and I had to do some "LSXEric" moding to make it fit right. I should have bought a body first and then have bought rear ruber after. O well, hope my parts get here today!:)

I have the 5 cell pack on for the fan. It is velcroed on, and should hold up for easy driveing I'll make a better system later.

it all ways seems to be like that. your old beat up batteries will run for ever but if you get new nice faster/bigger ones they only last like half as long if your lucky.

I GOT MY JUNK TODAY!!:D:D Well half of it. I got the hubs, axels, Rear rubber and rims(sorry no more crome). My ESC and motor come from another place and the letter with it said they'd be here in 1-3 more days. I dont have the camera from school so no pics.:( I got the chassie rolling and the rubber glued(ing) right now. Man this thing looks good for a 112$!:eek: Thanks for the nice comments guys.

YEA it is fineshed for now.:) Its really good all aroud. I was told to take it easy for the first pack and I did. Too dark outside.:( Man it has some power I'm thinking 38-40mph! I am for sure going to race now. 28/86 gears is just right. One question, I have no fan yet. The ESC was 112 after the run and the battire was 105. (95 degrees outside) Now the motor I'm worried is 140 too hot because it got too 141 degrees. Is it okay? Now PICS!

You might have to reduce the size of your pinion gear if it is the motor that is geting hot. The 28 tooth gear might be puting too much strain on the motor. Try going down to a 25 tooth gear.:)

Well I might not. I relly like the 15t for now, and I have a much better chance in 1/10 brushed truck. I'll try a 23 pinion. Thanks guys for the coments:D

IN general a 12t is faster than a 15t but you know, the 12t titan is a veeerrry stockish cheap motor so your not gona get real 12t speed so in this case the 15t is faster. but the lower the number the faster ( and hotter:eek:)

guys what you need to look out for with motors is the amp draw look at the spec of your chosen motor and compair . it to a competitor the one that has the highest amp draw normally is the fastest motor .

NAT is right. But also the titan 12t is a 550. The fireball is a 540 size wise. A stock 550 12t is equal to a stock 15t 540. The fireball is much better in all aspecs, even tourqe.

Yes titans are junk (from what I've heard). I think this is why this rusty was thrown out, it stopped working and someone took it apart, couldn't fix it and threw it in the buliding, ending up being thrown out. My prediction.

I think the check point motors are the best when it comes to performance to longtivity. But they are a little high in price.

The reedy flash motors are ok, and being that are not hand wound they are easy on your wallet. And yes it is better then the fireball motors.

Been the titans in my E-maxx are also still kicking fine. I think cause they are the monster 550's and are 21t much more tourqe. Like 27t 540's.

Well I'm not going brushless anytime soon. I like the combo plenty fast for the track. Next uprade will be big bores, and RPM arms all the way around. That will be it until I relly need something or my next project dont work. No more info bout new project, lips are sealed;)

23/86. Before I had 28/86 but it was too high. Raceing I used 20/90 and that was good for tourq. Tranny is out now and I have two other pojects going, so its collecting dust. I raced 3 times, but after that I had fun bashing with my friends High roller.

Well its like a stampede. The alumminum shocks are nice! The high roller will pop wheelies all day with a seven cell. The only big problem with it is there are hardly any hop-ups for it.
