Hi all, Im new to this so bear with me. A friend of mine and myself just bought the Losi Desert truck. This things rocks! Anyways, we both recently installed 13 turn modified motors in em and are having a problem. After we drive for about 10 mins, the truck goes dead for about 5 seconds, then is fine. But it does it about every 1-3 mins after that, very annoying. Its like the speed control is overheating or something. So we want to get better speed controls. Can anyone recommend one thats reasonably priced that will prevent that from happening?
Also, these trucks use that new 2.4 Ghz Spectrum technology (radio and receiver). So Im guessing I have to get a speed control thats compatible with that? Or no?

Your truck may have a voltage cut-off in it so it does not run away on you. Its a safety feature. You can use any speed controller, but first read thru your manual and see if there is the safety feature I speak of and also the motor you got will give you less runtime. I wouldn't run right out and buy a speed controller if you don't need it.:D

The 2.4 Ghz technology should work with any speed control. I havent heard of any problems with it. By the way welcome to rcd.;) Always liking to have new members!

The feature for run-away protect is called a fail-safe. Voltage cut-off is mainly for LiPo batteries, where you don't want the battery to drop below its safe voltage.

if anything try like a fan for your esc? if its getting hot or something that might help a bit. or cut lil holes in the windshield like a nitro truck. like slashman said don't go getting something if you dont need it.
