As you know Winter is right around the corner:eek:. So my son asked me to build an 1/18 scale dirt modified for indoor racing:rolleyes:. So here is what we have so far. We'll keep you updated. By the way I'll be building an EDM for me. Spoiled kid can't have all the fun. LOL

Yes it is based on the mini-t. We'll be running Mcallister bodies, Spy esc's and Spektrum receivers. I'm going to build the battery packs, probably 4 cells so we can adjust the weight front to back. I'll keep you posted.

I'm just a tad puzzled why you didn't go the Losi Mini-Late Model route, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel?
http://www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0221
.........just out of curiosity, I don't think I've seen "that" chassis kit - did you make it or buy it (and if so what brand is it)?
I could of went that way, but I prefer to be a little off center:D My sons car is going to be an open wheel modified and my car is going to be an east coast dirt modified. So the Losi late model isn't what I'm after. I grew up around open wheel and edm's. I'm originally from the East Coast. The chassis is "store bought", its made by GPM part no. GSMT1016FS

Building your own RC from the ground up from parts that are readily available is "re-inventing the wheel"? There are many in this hobby that prefer to build rather than buy RTR.

What shock oil weight are you using?

We are going to try 30wt first. See how that goes. Trial and era:D

The racing wont be over any jumps, so a lighter wt oil works well with this kind of racing?

I was thinking 30wt to keep suspension travel down in the corners:confused:
I could be wrong:o Any input would be great:D I think my old circle track mentality is coming out:eek:

How is there no adjustability and I don't remember telling you how to spend your money. You have to remember the chassis in the pictures is for my 10yr old son. I'm going to build it to his liking. I don't think were going out to chase a championship, we are just enjoying a good Father, son relationship. How about you just go and piss on somebody elses parade. Thanks
hehe.... i love this thing and remember it doesn't matter how much you spend all that matters is when you have a father-son moment that are priceless.:p:D rocket, what trucks do you have if you could post them then we could harp on you about what you do wrong 24/7:eek:

30 wt might work very well, you'll have to experiment with it. Body roll is gonna be your biggest enemy with this style of running, so 30 wt and a 1 or 2 hole shock piston is probably a good starting point.

So like on the right side, you would have thicker wt oil so not much travel and on the left side lighter wt oil? That is if you race counter clockwise. Ive never done this kind of racing so deffinatly dont listen to me.:D Sounds like fastmax knows what he is doing.

It's all good:D I raced Fever-4 stock cars for 5 years at our local track, Spokane Raceway Park, its a high banked 1/2 mile oval. I don't know if my experience there will translate to these little guys:)

Your experience there should put you ahead of the game. Same concept just on a smaller scale.

How many degrees is the slope of your oval track? (I think there is a bank throughout the track:D) Or am I getting too technical here? Its how my mind works, Im a welder.

We can ask questions but their is no need in trying to per-fect someone's build. I have been following several threads and their is alot of negative talk and this isn't the place for it.
If you can't say something nice then simply don't place it on the forum.
Thanks,
Greg B.
