Well I know that this is more of a car forum, but it is the only forum that I use.
I am starting a project that might take awhile, so bear with me.:) This boat hull was bought in '93 for ten bucks, and the radio system was bought in '87,(never been used before). Yes, I know that it is OLD, but It has been in the garage FOREVER! Also I dont have ton's of money, so I figured that I better use what I have on hand.:D If for some reason the radio wont work I have an alternetive.
Just warning you, I have never done a boat build before so there will be lots of mistakes.:o

This hull weigh's in at 7 pounds without anything in it, so I will have to put in enough muslepower to push this thing around the lake. Im thinking a e-maxx duel motor system to power this sucker. If you have any other Ideas for the powerplant let me know! Just dont make me rob the bank.:D

Im contemplating trying out a cheap brushless motor & esc set on ebay just to see how the boat will run for now and maybe do something else later. I still have to get prop, shaft, and other things. This is still on the drawing bord.:D

The esc is water proof and both the motor and esc are cooled by water. The picture showing the motor mount is most likely the one im going to use no matter what motor I end up getting.:) I will have to also fix some worn spots in the hull and the seams re-glued.

I will use bondo. Im not sure If im going to leave the boat like that or paint it. Its still on the drawing bord for a week or two untill I get all the funds together. I am open to all sugestions on what it should look like though. N.A.T, you have been a big help with those links!;) And the motor is going for $39.88 and the ESC is going for $55.88. Also the motor mount is going for around 12$.

i think the boat should be painted like this, white tip, then light blue, and the blue keeps getting darker, tell then end, then the back is black. over that, there should be yellow lightening strikes, i think it would look awesome

Is Bondo the same as Fiberglass filler? All the guys I see doing fiberglass repiar use epoxy then stuff called fiber glass filler. I have never done it so have no idea, Just wondering.

Im not sure... I do know that this stuff is used in collison repair on cars as well as on fiberglass. It sticks to anything realy well and you can shape It, and It hardens up realy well.
