Can you hold your finger over the pipe to get the fuel to the carb?

get a pull starter and make sure your exaust pipe isn't leaking anywhere and is hooked up the tank properly,

sure it works, I do it all the time. I would highly suspect an air leak somewhere if it's not working for you.
We'll find out if traxxas engines really work well or not, firing up my revo 2.5 for the first time in almost 19 months tonight...I cannot remember if I used AR oil or not when i last ran it but it seems to be turning just fine.
This particular engine has always ran strong from day 1 - I had another 2.5 that was garbage - same problem as you are having...never held a tune at all and had to run with the needles in odd settings for it to keep running. I had an air leak somewhere, but never was able to track it down. Other 4 traxxas engines all ran well.
Take the starter off the back of the engine and blast out the one-way with degreaser. It's probably soaked with oils residue which will cause it to skip.

Is the engine brand new? If so, all engines are tight at first.
Warm the engine with your hairdryer or heat gun.
or
Loosen the glow plug and use a glow driver to get it running, then tighten up the plug. After break-in, it will be easier to start with the EZ-Start, if that's what you are still using. Make sure your stater battery is fully charged to give it every chance to spin over that engine.
its about one month old and i think i have a air leek at the engine and header because its all dark broun splatter and im sure:mad:

plug up the exaust and carb and then rinse in water.
