Hi,
I was wondering what is the main difference between those 2???
I want eletric but I'm not sure about the rest (size, reliability, ease of use, etc...) I have some plan to go brushless in the future. Maybe that is something to consider, I'm not really sure:confused:
I already have everything else (charger, batteries, transmitter, receiver, etc...) so what would be a good choice??? The price is not a factor since it is almost the same.
So what would be your choice???
Thanks for sharing your personnal experience with me.:)

Traxxas all the way.
1)It's a Traxxas
2)Traxxas has awesome customer support
3)It's not an HPI
I would go Traxxas over HPI any time.:)

hanomag-
Check out the video of our E-Savage test:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mga8eGaV3rA
The truck was awesome, we beat the heck out of it and it just wanted more. It appears HPI is starting to back it up with aftermarket parts too, so you can build up a killer project.

Thanks for the video.
I started to read more things about those trucks. It seems that E-maxx can be upgrade more easily than the E-savage.
Also i read somewhere that the e-savage is just an e-zilla with a HPI sticker on it!:o
Plus I was thinking using parts from the nitro savage but it's not compatible since the Nitro -Savage is 1/8 scale and the e-savage is 1/10.
On the other hand, e-maxx and t-maxx are the same scale!!!:)
I think I'll go with the e-maxx.
Thanks for the info.

Although you have batteries and charger the savage comes with them. The savage has an aluminum chassis, but the aftermarket for the maxx is second to none in this comparison.

Throw this into the mix.
The e-sav is availabe now without batts or charger.
The e-maxx is now longer, single speed, more money.
How about one of each. :o

I think the reason there is so much stuff for traxxas is because it needs aftermarket parts, the HPI does not as Hpi built it right 1st time.
I own a REVO and you have to spend some money getting aftermarket parts otherwise you'll spend all you money fixing it.
I'd still get the REVO if i was to do it again because I like upgrading it.
But I'd get an E-Savage if I was to go electric, with electric you just want it to work when you put it down and not spend time rebuilding. I like the fact that the new E-Maxx is water-proof but I'd go E-Savage if you're going brushless.
It's up to you though.
Both are good trucks and have some great features, but it depends on your desires, you will enjoy either truck.

Thanks again all,
I didn't bought my e-maxx yet. Other priorities to spend my money :(
Anyway, I'm happy to see that the new e-maxx is waterproof. I think this is a good feature. I bet other manufacturers will try to do the same on their truck.
I like your idea hoober!!! One of each!!!!
Maybe in the spring....

Both teh EMAXX and E-Savage are pretty cool vehicles to begin with as RTR out of the box trucks, but neither of them will hold up for very long as is. Out of the box they both run great for a few minutes, but it will not take long before you will break something and have to make repairs or upgrades. That is just the nature of the sport. From a personal standpoint the EMAXX is much more fun when it comes to upgrades. We all start out just wanting an RC racer to have some fun with.
Once you find out that the trucks have flaws, and begin looking at the Hop-ups from Integy, Unlimited Engineering, Fast Lane Machine, and others that are out there you will go crazy. Most of the EMAXX owners who really enjoy bashing or racing end up spending upwards of $2K on one truck because it is addictive. Once you upgrade one thing on the truck you just cannot stop yourself. Before you know it your truck will be alloy everything with the top of the line brushless system installed for power. So if you can handle spending that kind of $$$$ on the hobby, then you are ready for an EMAXX. If not then get an E-Savage or an EMAXX and have fun working on it every time you take it out to play with it.
Even the newest truck out there (New Emaxx) has weaknesses. It is a great out of the box RTR toy, and it is a little more indestructable then before, but it will break no doubt. Good luck with your decision and have fun whatever you decide. Building these things is half of the fun you know.

You know what, I didn't think about this before.
It is true that when it comes to upgrade, you can't resist long.
I'm currently running a TT-01 for drifting, and the first year I tried to run the car with no upgrade. But after 1 year, I decided to change the motor and put an Mamba 7700 for the fun of it.
Well, the first thing I know, I had to change almost everything to alloy cause I was breaking all the small components. The car was too fast!!!!
Anyway, I still love my TT-01, and I wouldn't change it for everything!!!
But like you said, I imagine that running a truck off-road, I would brake something in no time!!!
Thanks for the advice

I have driven both trucks, in stock form to make up my mind. My personal interests had me seek out the Traxxas. I have been a long time fan of Traxxas since I got my first Nitro Hawk, so it did influance my dicission somewhat. However, Like I said, I liked things about both trucks. My advise is find people in your area that have those trucks, as close to stock as you can get, and get them to let you take a test drive. Everyone likes something different, so find what you like. I have had my maxx for 3 yrs., and it is still one of my favs.

buy the truck you like , don't take advice from some one who has an e maxx or e savage .
go out and see for your self with one you like . because when it breaks you will hate it twice as much .
i have an e maxx runs great no real problems .
just remember, they will break, sooner or later they all break unless you leave it on a shelf.
seems like electrics are getting better all the time . i love nitro the sound the fumes just makes it more real.
have fun with new mt

Little off topic but if Kyosho had kept the Twin Force this could have been a three-way shoot out of dual battery monsters. Still haven't figured out why it was discontinued. I lean more toward the kits anyway. Build it from the ground up you'll appreciate it more. Both maxx and savage are RTR it kinda takes some of the fun out of it (by fun i mean the total r/c experience of build it, race it, break it, upgrade it).

By the time you get done customizing it into the truck you want, you have built it from the ground up. I could not tell you how many times my e-maxx has been compleatly disassembled. The beauty of rtr is you can charge up the batterys, and put on the stickers, and glue the tires, hook the batteries up, and your jumping 10 foot in the air. I bought one kit in my life, and it seemed to take me forever to figure out what electronics I wanted, what engine, Radio...the list goes on. I am currently seeking a buggy or truggy, and will probably go kit just because they come out with better parts. But rtr's have their place in enthusiast's garages also. They are the ease of use rc's.

Don't get me wrong I have torn apart my E-Maxx enough times for it to be classified as a kit just for cleaning and re-lube. I have 2 each of kit and RTR and it just seems like you have more appreciation for the car. Besides the 10 foot jump is (in my opinion) more satisfying when you know that days ago it came in a box like a revell model car and you assembled it set it on the ground ,saw the jump and said to yourself "I built this" and stabbed the throttle. But I do agree RTR's definately have there place and the maxx and savage are probably two of the more exciting RTR's out there.

everyone knows, the e-maxx is water proof, has a crap load of aftermarket support, is made by traxxas (that should be reason enough) who has the best customer support EVER, it can handle 16 cells stock, and check this site out for some intensity usually not found in rc: http://kershawdesigns.com/ ...o ya, get the e-maxx
