My Small Backyard Track

Here's a Backyard track we built last week:D. Fun for the family and friends. We run mosltly Slashes on the track since the Slash seems to be the latest craze and even my bud's that haven't had an RC car in a long while have gotten back into the hobby due to purchasing a Slash. Where involved in Full-size racing with a desert truck and SCCA Mazda6 touring car so it's nice to finally see a close RC replaca of a truck that's cheap enough to enjoy and up-grade. Seems like everyone has one nowday's ;) The track was started because my dog has destroted the lawn, bushes, springlers, etc.. so the wife gave the go ahead on the new landscaping...(good dog:rolleyes:). We didn't go to big on the jumps and wanted to keep the track some-what to scale. I also fly RC helis and planes piloted by video (FPV) so I have also been driving by wireless video while I sit in the comfort of my garage watching a monitor. It's a blast to drive RC from the driver seat. I have more on this at www.FPVvideo.com :).

i really wish i could have a back yard track but mines all concrete and its not smooth so i can't even run on roads on it

Thanks guy's for the kind words:). I just put the new CC Sidewinder BL set up with the 4600kv motor in one of the slashes and the thing is stupid Fast with a 3 cell lipo. I re-programed the ESC to be a bit tamer and went back to the 2 cell lipo for now. One thing I noticed with the Brushless gear is that my stock Traxxas radio doesn't play nice and I'm getting gliches with the 3 cell lipo but none with a 2 cell:confused:.

It's getting harder to finish my video that's 2-1/2 hours of footage edited to 5 minutes because in my spare time I'm bashing around on the track. Working on it now and here's some more action shots of my FPV Slash lifted from the video footage :).

that is a sweet set up, you think you could take pictures on how that camra is set up. beening trying to making something like that but cant do a very good job on it. oh and i want your back yard

There's a ton of info in the RCG FPV forum also that can help. That's where I started. I have my site www.FPVvideo.com that has some more info on my set ups. I get most of my gear from www.Hobbywireless.com . The system I use is the 900mhz 500 milliwatts FPV wireless system with the R520 Video goggles. It's a must to use the 900 system if you have a 2.4 radio. 900mhz also gets the signal around obsticles better then the 2.4ghz and 1.3ghz wireless video gear IMO :).

It's finnally done. Even though the track has changed a bit since I recorded this video it's still basicly the same other then we added a table top at the end of the long staight before the fence left hander. Enjoy :)

Will It looks like a buddy of mine went and built his own backyard track after spending weeks racing on mine. Now we can have a racing circuit with 2 tracks and 6-8 Salsh racers. Now if we could just get a couple of more people in the area with tracks to join in.... .
I'm taking my FPV gear and camcorder over today and get some driver seat video .

Another video....this one has Trex 450 heli coverage flying over the track. Get a good idea on the track design with a heli. Making another heli video flying over Rude Dogs track. Much bigger yard and no tree's;).
