Hi all,
I just got a nitro tc3 from a guy on rcu and I love it. However it does have a couple of problems. First it has hpi racing treads with a medium compound and all it does is spin the wheels when I go, or it drifts uncontrollably in turns. I've been trying to "squeeze" the trigger on my radio slowly instead of just gunning it, but even then it seems like once it get up to around half throttle the tires start to spin. So, my first question is do I need to change my tires or maybe just change the compound? If I do need to change the tires what should I change them to? I don't know which is why I'm asking. Second issue I have is that the steering servo in it sucks. I'm not sure if it's stock or not, because I got it used and I haven't really had the time to tear into it to see what's in it and what isn't....still having fun playing with my new toy:D Anyhow the question I have about this is what would be a good servo to get that won't break the bank account and have my wife yelling at me? As always thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Hey there, You might want to try foams. Maybe a pink compound. As far as servos, you might try a JR Z590M. Its a middle of the road servo. I have a couple of them that I was going to put Ebay. If your interested let me know. Send me a PM. John

I have very limited knowledge on foamies...but if I'm not mistaken, pink/purple/magenta...are a softer compound generally preferred on carpet. On pavement or cement, maybe look into green. The idea of foam I think is a good option, but one problem is wear. Once they wear a bit, you'll want/need to true them. You might also look into a "racing" rubber slick compound instead. Granted they might not last as long as foams that are properly and regularly trued, but at least you won't have to worry about that.
As for servos, the z590 is a reliable one and can be had brand new around $40. I would personally spring for a faster/stronger one though. I have had great results with Ace/AE servos. The DS 1313 is rated @ .13 Seconds/ approx 175 Oz In torque. This would serve well in steering duties. It can be had for around $75.

power is still power......

Doesn't do much good if you can't control it.

I would suggest a traxxas high torque servo its like 125oz in .20 seconds I have no idea about tires I dont run on road

I agree... Power and handleling is awsome. Oh and yes the traxxas servo is a great cheap choice.
