So a new mini carpet muncher has arrived. Duratrax recently released a TC version of their popular Vendetta series. I wanted something to race at my local indoor facility this winter, but funds are very tight. While searching through an online retailer, I found out about the new offering, and for approximately $180 ARTR, I couldn't resist.
And, with thier discounts and being a "Super Saver Club Member, free S/H, I was able to get it even cheaper! :) Here's a quick pic I recently took in my driveway. I hope to race it for the first time tomorrow.

I havn't run it yet, sadly :(. I'm still trying to figure out what to do for batteries. I did try hooking up my Nomadio to it yesterday, but for some reason it wouldn't bind with my Rx. I used an old LiPo which has a slight "puff" to it, so I think that is the problem. Hopefully I can pick up a new pack this week. Funds are super tight right now though.
A few things I do like though... I think the droop set up is ingenious, if not different. Small extensions are molded into the upper arm and a set screw runs through them into the side of the diff case. I don't know if this would work well on other vehicles, namely 1/8 scale, but I'd like to see someone try it. The body mounting is spot on. I'm also very impressed by all the hop ups already available for it. Granted, a number of gadgets come from the ST/Buggy series, such as ball diffs, but they've also got foams in two shores....35 and 30 already out and I've heard that they may come out with 40 and 45 shore foams. The manual is great. The front pages include info on what you need to run, how to set up to E.S.C to your Tx, as well as very detailed set up info. The set up info includes caster, camber, ride height, droop, etc etc...and gives a brief description of what each adjustment will do. The stock Tx/Rx system is Futaba based. Duratrax also included two extra inserts to accomdate Hitec or Air servos for the servo saver, should one wish to use a different servo.
Cons- Battery/charger not included. I could be wrong, but I'm 98% sure that the ST did come with a batt and a wall charger. Admittedly, wall chargers aren't the best...but it still would have been nice to have so I could at least putt around with it in my driveway.
That's about it for now. As time goes on I'll try to keep this thread updated.

Nice looking ride. There is a lot of discussion going on around the boards about these cars, and so far I have heard a lot of positive feedback. I know of one company that will be releasing some other foam tire options soon too, and I'm pretty sure they will also have a carbon chassis conversion for it as well. This car could be all the rage at many indoor carpet tracks this winter.
