i picked up this NIB TB02 kit for $75 shipped, what a great deal! (there are a few more on the bay with various body sets) it's the hop up version with the aluminum prop shaft, ball diffs, oil shocks, and full bearings.
i had planned to drop in a brushless and use it as my weekend parking lot warrior, replacing my wrecked TL01, but after looking at the body, I thought it would make a nice drifter....i've never tried drifting, but so far so good!
I added a Tamiya drift tire set, decaled it up and hit the parking lot. Couple of changes I made, I set up my radio for 70/30 on the throttle/brakes to give a little more throttle control and that really helps. The stock suspension set-up was too good, this thing is still pretty planted even with the drift tires on, so I am playing with the shock set-up and what not to try to get it to break loose a little easier. I have a set of swaybars on the way also that i can use for fine tuning. Total cost of the car so far is about $120 - not a bad way to go!
